USA 20th Century Fox Studio Classics

[Show spoiler]According to Mr.Lumenick:

Quote:
Starting sometime in 2013, Fox will revive its venerable Studio Classics line (which started in the VHS days and spanned the early years of DVD) with monthly releases. Probably these will mostly Blu-ray upgrades of titles previously released on DVD, but it may include "Cavalcade'' (1933) which has only been available on DVD as part of a pricey 75th anniversary gift set.

Quote:
20th Century Fox Studio Classics refers to a collection of films ranging from the late 1920s to the late 1960s released on DVD by 20th Century Fox

So none of the titles in their 24-film noir series will be getting upgraded?

I could see Laura as part of an Otto Preminger set.

Though I wonder how much general name recognition OP has these days.

Dunno I'm a huge noir fan myself.

Drop Exodus and replace it with Daisy Kenyon and Whirlpool, and I'm in! Also, it's Fallen Angel, Fallen Idol is the Reed film.

A Letter to Three Wives is quite excellent. I'd love to see a blu-ray for it.

Lol,yeah Fallen Angel!That's what i meant.Thx for the correction
I agree Daisy Kenyon and Whirlpool are better choices, but Exodus were released in Europe this year, and apparently look very good.Color movie,Paul Newman, war subject...dunno,sounds like a bigger cash cow than those two aforementioned titles.

Whilst a set with those titles would be awesome I don't see it coming and I think Laura's more valuable as a standalone title, anyway. Methinks it's going to be on the license elsewhere though.

Now re: My Darling Clementine - FOX, if you would upgrade my favorite western post-haste, I'd be much obliged!

Wasn't Sunrise a part of this line as well? Not a single release on DVD, no, but it was available in a boxset I believe.

A restored digital version of TWO FOR THE ROAD screened at the TCM Festival this spring. Sadly I missed it, but with a new HD master I'm sure that will be among the first to reach BD.

there's a release of keys to the kingdom coming out somewhere overseas fairly soon, so maybe that will be one of the early titles.
personally I want Gentlemen's Agreement, Leave Her To Heaven, and Love is a Many Splendored Thing the most of the titles that haven't already come out.
btw: Other countries had some different titles in their respective "studio classics" collections so there are many other films that could be included that aren't listed above.
I have no doubt that Laura will come out on bd at some point.

Leave Her to Heaven could look jaw-droppingly gorgeous if done correctly.

Id drop Whirlpool and do I Wake Up Screaming or Leave her to Heaven
I wish fox would release Hand of Death with John Agar MOD or what have you.
I have their horror classics and I cant believe they used movies like Dragonwyck, Chandu and Dr Renault for a *horror* set. They are all good films in their own ways but far from horror.

I just want them to upgrade their DVD double feature of House of Wax (Vincent Price) & Mystery of the Wax Museum (1930s). I don't care about any of those other titles.
