Anyone else catch this with show with Gary Oldman? I really enjoyed it.

I watched it last week. Excellent series.

I'm not usually a binger, but found this show so gripping that I had to watch two episodes at a time. If I didn't require sleep, I probably would've stayed up all night.

The second series, based on the second book in the series "Dead Lions", has already been filmed and may air later this year. Furthermore, Apple TV+ was so impressed with the first series that they have ordered a third and a fourth.

I hope they can maintain the quality (and the cast). It's easily one of the best series I've seen in the last year.

This aired on Brit Box in the UK I watched a couple of episodes seemed decent very different to the high gloss US spy shows. This thread has reminded me to go back and finish it.

I loved every minute of the first season. Season two has been done for a long time and I hope we get it before the year is over.

I have seen episodes 1-4 so far and really like it. Gary Oldman is an hilarious curmudgeon, and the whole idea of these loser MI5 operatives is a unique angle upon which to built a spy series. It's just that episodes 1 and 2 were so carefully calibrated, that when the plot finally kicks into gear - which it has to, I get that - that suspension of disbelief had to be stretched just a little more than I anticipated with

[Show spoiler]multiple moles inside Slough House put there for a reason by the same government who's employing the slow horses in the first place. The kidnapping plot, tense at first, deflated a tad for me when it turned out it was all a setup by the establishment, except then suddenly it wasn't and one guy really does go rogue. You know, sometimes more straightforward isn't bad. Major rolleyes when Cartwright decides to steal a car the analog way, and the owner, who's just entered a kebab shop, just drops his keys right on the counter for our hero to pick them up. Suuuure.

It's not a silly spy caper, but struck me as something more sophisticated so that was sore thumb territory for me.

[Show spoiler]Also wonder whether elaborate training exercises such as the one that opens the show are really a thing. But look forward to seeing the final two.

Pretty strong ending, even if they wrote themselves into a pickle, and for the finale to remain exciting, one of the characters has to do a dumbass thing, which in this case is the

[Show spoiler] victim not continuing to run away from the remaining bad guy but instead stop at a tree and survey his surroundings. All right, so maybe he thought he was safe, given that the other chap was wounded, but he heard the gunshots, so can't have been that wounded.

The preview for season 2 looks promising, so I still look forward to it a lot.

I can't wait for this but I'm a binger by nature and this goes wayyyy back. I tended to not watch shows my whole life until they lost popularity and ended up airing everyday on some secondary channel. Now I'm watching a few shows as they happen and I don't like it.

Same here. I'm a binger too. The only thing recently I enjoyed watching week to week was Winning Time on HBO about the Lakers. I'm watching HOTD week to week and I don't like it either. But, yeah, Slow Horses I binged, so I don't mind waiting till it's all done. Same with Succession, Severance, Yellowstone. I'll probably watch the LOR show on Amazon soon since it's over now.
