Default Region Free player question

The foreign language depts at the college where my husband works is having problems with getting films due to lack of being able to play them. (other depts too, but we were talking about foreign language films at the time) I told him about the region free players, but I guess they don't want a normal player they want something portable to bring to classrooms and for teachers and students to "rent" etc.

Are there any region free portable players? They'd need to buy a few of them. Or is it best to just get a smaller play?

Also side note, they're kind of worried about the future of physical media, unless something changes in copyright with digital stuff/streaming for education use. He says technically they can't show things that are streaming, only from disk since the laws are different for streaming and the disks are properly bought for the library. When you sign up for a streaming service like netflix the fine print states personal use only and with "signing" the contract with them it overrides copyright law, even for educational use in the classroom. I don't think there is an educational/institutional membership for the college for things like prime/netflix/max etc But they can use services like Kanopy and other free services such as youtube and online versions of things like PBS. But they need disks. Both domestic and foreign. And lots of them. And not just educational stuff they want regular movies to immerse the students in the languages. So without actual physical disks they can't show this stuff in the classrooms due to the popularity of streaming everything now.
