Showtime's "The Affair" (Season 5) - Blu-ray Forum

Didn't see a thread for it. I'm probably the only one watching it though. I've liked it more than I was anticipating to. Season 5 updates to come.

The wife and I dig it so far.
Structurally, it reminds me of Jet Li's Hero, in that we see both sides of the story.

In The Affair we see his side and then her side... so far.

In Hero we're eventually shown three sides: the protagonists side (Jet Li), the antagonists side (the King) and then finally the truth.

Maybe that'll happen here with The Affair? Because there's no way both Noah and Alison are telling the truth with such contrasting stories. There's always three sides to a story: his side, her side, and the truth.

But i never saw Rashomon. And in Hero, we're shown each version of the story via specific color palette. One Jet Li's. One the Kings. And then what really happened.

There's only ten episodes this season, and they're already on episode five come this Sunday, so half way there.

by the way, Fiona Apple's opening credits song, "Container", is awesome

I was told to listen closely to the secret hidden within the opening credits song.

"Container".

My translation is in parentheses/red.
Its obviously a message from Alison and Cole's dead son, Gabriel, to another young child born of the consequences of his death.

Here it goes.

I (Gabriel, Alison and Cole's son) was screaming (yelling for help) into the canyon

The echo I created (the grief and bereavement because of it)
Outlasted my last breath (caused emotional problems with parents for years)

Very enjoyable show indeed. I don't suggest watching it with your S.O. as questions can come up and you may or may not feel like sharing your thoughts feelings on it.

I simply say honey its a diversion you picked the show and we're watching it. I really don't have an opinion on it either way. LOL.
