Sideways (2004) now in 4K w/DV on iTunes - Blu-ray Forum

Earlier this year I bought Sideways on iTunes, gambling that it'd eventually get upgraded, and now it has.

Looks like several services have it on sale for $4.99 as well, if you want to upgrade your BD but don't expect a 4K UHD disc release anytime soon.

Edit: just saw this was mentioned a couple pages back in the iTunes 4K HDR main thread should a mod wish to delete

It's with Searchlight (Disney). I wouldn't bet the farm anytime soon. Maybe Criterion could make something happen.

Either Alexander Payne releases his next film through Disney and gets enough awards attention that he can play the James Cameron card for a direct release, he lobbies Disney to get it licensed out to Criterion, or Sony really succeeds in getting 4K MOD to work and cracks open Disney's vault slightly.

Maybe 15% chance it comes out in the next five years?

Or… this is part of the Searchlight deal between Disney and Criterion. Maybe.
