The Last House on the Left is one of the most disturbing movies in my collection, but it's also one that I am compelled to revisit ever so often because of the emotionally cathartic singleness of effect that it delivers.
I'm looking forward to seeing Arrow's work on this. |

The original Blu-ray was a decent release. In particular, the supplemental interviews and insights about the making of and response to the film are fascinating. If Arrow add some more enlightening bonus features, I might be tempted to get it. Otherwise, just an A/V upgrade won't be enough for me since I don't know if I can ever stomach watching the film again.
Fun fact: the cemetery from the film is right off the Merritt Parkway in CT. |

I swear i'm bloody Nostrodamus. I had a feeling Arrow was going to give Craven's original the royal treatment.
Expect Scream Factory to do a CE for the remake with Aaron Paul and Tony Goldwyn. Last edited by GasmaskAvenger; 02-21-2018 at 06:44 PM. |

Jesus, that's some sweet cover artwork! I'll probably be skipping it (well, for a while until I see a super low price during an arrow sale) because I already have a copy and while it's a seminal work in horror, it's not one I need to revisit all that often.

I think it'll be a similar situation as The Hills Have Eyes. They'll do the best they can with subpar elements but at least we'll finally be getting a definitive edition of a 70's grindhouse classic.

Oh man, if they add the COMPLETELY UNCUT disembowelment footage as an extra that would put this release over the top. They (Craven's estate or Cunningham) have it. It's intact. It's there. When they made the director's definitive cut for the DVD craven trimmed it from his ORIGINAL director's cut.
I'd LOVE it at least as an extra to see how the scene originally played out. If Arrow actually manages to incorporate the uncut footage on another disc, so two versions of the film......I'd be speechless. Director's Definitive Cut and Original Director's Cut....*shivers* Last edited by JohnCarpenterLives; 02-21-2018 at 08:47 PM. |

Roy Frumkes better be heavily involved in this project.
I also want to see the "Krug & Company" and "Sex Crime of the Century" title cards as bonus features too. Last but not least, here's a remastered version of the "It's Only a Movie" trailer I put together using the now obsolete MGM blu-ray. |
