Default A Nightmare on Elm Street Movies....

The last time I saw any A Nightmare on Elm Street movies, is when I was a little kid.

I'm finally running back through them again, and I have quite a lot to say about them.

A Nightmare on Elm Street 1
Instant Classic. Awesome soundtrack. Freddy is dark and scary. The environment just friggin rocks. This still remains the best Freddy movie. Not much to say about it other than it's a required viewing.

A Nightmare on Elm Street 2
Suckage. However, it's probably not the worst but pretty close to it. What brings it down is the stupid idea that Freddy can take over someone in reality. It also has lots of homosexual overtones (you could have easily replaced the main actor with a female, and it would have probably been better). The dream sequences are just unimaginative and most of the time, as Freddy doesn't show up (Snake, birds, etc). Having said that, the atmosphere is still great, the soundtrack is still good (not as well used as the first), and the production value is still quite good.

A Nightmare on Elm Street 3
Awesome. Laurence Fishborne..what else needs to be said? Freddy begins to emerge into a bastard character at this point, and starts bringing out the one-liners. However, it still remains effective at being scary as well. This is a definite improvement over the second one. Awesome dream scenes, great kills.

A Nightmare on Elm Street 4
Awesome. I use to love this movie the most as a child, and I still think it's pretty cool, especially the ending. The dream sequences just turn out to be weird and gross, but heavily effective (turning the "sporty" chick into a fly...). Awesome dream scenes, awesome kills, and just an awesome movie.

A Nightmare on Elm Street 5
Ok, now it's starting to turn downhill. Freddy's makeup looks absolutely terrible (it looks like a mask this time). However, some of the death scenes make up for this movie's slight crappiness (boyfriend on a motorcycle). It starts to really get campy at this point, but still remains somewhat-effective. However at this point, it's really leaving the "strict" horror genre. Not a bad movie, but it seems to be more for the fans than anything else.

A Nightmare on Elm Street 6
Freddy has tanked. This is the Mortal Kombat Annihilation of Mortal Kombat. The acting is the worst acting of any Freddy movie. The production value is the cheapest of any Freddy movie. The sets just look god-aweful cheap. This is the most campiest and corniest of Freddy movies by far. The movie itself really sucks, but however, there's a couple decent parts (Power glove, the stoner being pulled into the TV). It's really just a corn fest. Alcohol and psychedelics required.

A Nightmare on Elm Street 7 (New Nightmare)
Have not seen

Freddy vs Jason
Have not seen recently- waiting on Blu-ray

What is your synopsis?
