Blair Witch easily. Book of Shadows was just a quickly concocted cash grab to bank on the first film's surprise success. It wasn't utterly atrocious, but it definitely begged to question what their intentions were since it bared very little relation to the original other than a meta reference to the 1999 film itself. No book of shadows, no witch, and nothing that added to the lore.

At least Blair Witch aimed to scare along with sticking with the novelty of the first and imo it was effective as a sort of update on the original film while being a spiritual sequel.

I don't get anything out of Book of Shadows no matter how often I watch it.
It is a chore to sit through because nothing works. Blair Witch was at least trying and managed to pull off a few engaging scenes.
The only thing I like about BoS is the Marilyn Manson song.

Book of Shadows, although not easily as its no masterpiece. But at least it tried to do something different unlike Blair Witch 2016 which was a hugely missed oppurtunity i.e they killed off the drone which could have caught some creepy stuff and was just more of the same but not very good.

Haven't seen the new one but voted for it. The sequel was such a letdown.

Can't speak for the latter but book of shadows did a weird thing to my VCR and messed it up, that tape was cursed. For this, and this alone, I gotta give it to Book of Shadows for brining in evil forces into our living area.
