Spent a decent chunk of time playing through the actually quite substantial demo over the past couple of days (didn’t have long to get through it before it was no longer available).
Enjoyed it, especially once I’d got back into the Nioh-ness of it, and had built up my character enough to challenge what the game was throwing at me. Exploration was fine, and as with the previous games, I love how almost everything you do gradually helps build up your character’s stats. As with many bosses in these kinds of games, you get your ass handed to you time and again, but you gradually learn the moves and timing, and so it’s very satisfying to beat them. The boss at the end of this demo was no different. My eyeballs felt pretty dry after playing, such is the concentration required, but I reckon I’ll pick it up next year. Must be a glutton for punishment. |
