USA Needful Things (1993)- Kino Studio Classics - June 2015

Needful Things Blu-ray

Quote:
"The best Stephen King film ever!" -Jeff Craig, "Sixty Second Preview"

Welcome to Castle Rock, Maine, a lovely place to live... if you don't mind selling your soul! Oscar nominees Ed Harris (A Beautiful Mind) and Max Von Sydow (Minority Report) head an exceptional cast- including Bonnie Bedelia (Die Hard) and Amanda Plummer (Pulp Fiction)- in this supernatural thriller that's dark, haunting and "a hell of a good scare." (Los Angeles)

Sheriff Alan Pangborn (Harris) has a devil of a problem: Suddenly all the residents of his sleep little town are dying... to kill each other. But at least business is still booming, especially at a new antique store. The shop's mysterious owner (Von Sydow) has something for everyone, and his prices are always reasonable: just one small favor... oh, and, of course, eternal damnation!

Im shocked, I never figured that KINO would release something somewhat contemporary from the 1990s.

Nice!

It'd also be cool if Warner were ever to release The Lawnmower Man.

The 1990s are oldies now, old man! I deal with college students all day and it's funny how they all think of the 1990s the way I thought of the 80s when I was in high school/college. :P

As excited as I am about this news, I simply won't be able to bring myself to buy it if it doesn't include the extended cut. The difference between it and the theatrical is that pronounced.

I saw a post on their Facebook that they are working to get it, but that the rights are with another company. So it may or may not happen.

Doesn't TNT, not MGM, own the rights to the TV/extended version??

If that was coming I'd expect it announced along with that commentary.

Wonder if they could included the bits as deleted scenes and still be within MGM's rights???

Another studio owns the TV longer cut, Kino is trying to license it, per their FB page.

The 90s as older ? Gah ! Old man , sure why not, experience, wisdom and girls dig older too heh heh

If it has the extended cut, I'm in. The theatrical version just isn't very good.
