I think eventually I will get one. That way I can use it for my upconverter and not ware my PS3 anymore than it has to be. There's no real point to be threatened by these machines anymore.

How much was shipping? I thought about buying a cheap one on eBay, but once I figured in the shipping costs, it would be just as easy to buy from Amazon.

If Toshiba pulls players off the shelf, I wonder if prices will go UP as people with large HD-DVD collections rush out to buy backup units?

This is a good time to get some seriously good deals on an upscaler. I see the A20 (which does 1080p) is going for sub $50 with 12 hours left. The A30 and A35 would be good ones to look out for as well. The XA2 still seems to be drawing some good money ($300+) due to the Reon and the analog outputs.

Seriously, these things are a lot better build and picture quality than the cheapie upscalers at Best Buy going for the same price - Toshiba's loss is your gain.
