United Kingdom Burning Paradise - Eureka Classics

Coming from Eureka. Trailer was posted on Youtube:

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=BZa6cJ...ZSBldXJla2E%3D

Does anyone know if this will be definitely completely uncut? The Trailer shows a horse fall that in my eyes would be a clear candidate for animal cruelty. But I don't know if those Youtube trailers even are submitted to the BBFC.

It's been rated before and there's no indication of any cuts.

https://www.bbfc.co.uk/release/burni...jpwwc0yotg4mjq

Edit: it seems the horse falls on command, as he can be seen rolling and getting up in a couple of shots after the fall.

The version submitted to the BBFC and released on VHS by Made in Hong Kong was heavily cut to begin with. So this sadly is no certain indication that the movie would pass uncut when re-submitted in its complete version.

Yes, it had "full uncut version" on the VHS art, but it was a cut version. Probably a Cat-II edited for HK version.

The other DVDs and BDs were uncut, I think.

Eureka runtime say it's 105mins. Though I guess if it just lost the horse roll that might not be enough to affect that.

This list refers to the Made In Hong Kong VHS of Burning Paradise, and it wasn't edited by the BBFC. - https://www.oocities.org/eatingfish/listofcuts.html
I don't remember there being any problematic horse falls? Just FX, I think.
Could be wrong.

I will still pick this up for the extras at least. I already own the Panorama release and am assuming that that release is uncut. Just requesting a censorship "heads up" prior to release from any UK company or otherwise if a title had to be censored due for whatever reason. It's good that at least we do sometimes get a warning from our fellow board members that know. But, it would be nice if there is some mention in the advertising letting people know if they have had to censor due to animal cruelty or whatever. Or, another option would be to accomplish what Arrow did where if played in Region B the content would be censored or if watching in Region A, uncensored. I don't know what kind of voodoo magic one has to pull to accomplish that goal but it was a welcome relief for us U.S. watchers.

I never knew it was cut, the MIHK VHS used to say "Full Uncut Version" on it, IIRC Edit: Just seen Mark's post

The HK version was only missing a few seconds in two gore scenes. The UK VHS was missing much more. About 5-6 minutes (mainly plot scenes).

Unfortunately due to unavoidable delays, the new interview with Wong Kam Kong is not going to be ready in time for the release of BURNING PARADISE.

Fortunately we do have another film featuring the actor, and the interview will be included with that release. We apologise for any disappointment this may cause.

Anyone know if the VinSyn release is cut? I really hope not, as I just recently picked it up and still haven’t watched it.

Well, I watched my copy from VS recently and I remember it includes at least THESE scenes. Also I haven't read anywhere that VS could be cut.

Any news, yet, if the Blu-ray will be completely uncut? I looked up the homepage of the bbfc but it only lists the rating from 1997 for the heavily pre-cut Made in Hong Kong VHS release.

10kbullets seem to have gotten the disc early for their review and list the running time at 104:27. The US Vinegar syndrome BD is listed on dvdcompare.net at 104:42, while the French Spektrum BD is listed at 104:13. Both are marked as uncut. Eureka and Vinegar may have their specific logos as part of the movie files, so the 15 seconds difference between their running times are no certein indicator.

I checked the Vinegar Syndrome and Eureka Blu-rays, and the difference in the runtime does not have anything to do with the opening logos or title sequence. I wonder if the fifteen seconds have to do with horse falls, since Burning Paradise has a few graphic horse falls.

DVDcompare says there are no cuts to the Eureka, but where that info originated from is a mystery as the BBFC website hasn't been updated with this release yet (it's still only showing the heavily pre-cut 95min video from 1997).

What do people think about the cover design on this? Especially in comparison to the VS.

In my opinion the VS release is far superior.
