Default Digital copy of the “The Help” won’t redeem.

Picked up a brand new copy of the Disney movie “The Help”, according to Amazon, the movie is sold with digital copy, is still good. I tried several times to redeem in iTunes and all it does is lock up. This movie has one of those gold discs that must be redeemed on a home PC through iTunes. Does anybody have any suggestions on how to get this to work or should I just return it to Amazon and get a refund?

It does say on the back Digital Copy code subject to expiration which I’d assume is long past by now.
However have you tried redeeming the code via the AppleTV app on iPhone/iPad, if it does redeem you’ll likely only get an SD copy anyway.

It's $4.99 on iTunes in HD.

That copy will have expired sometime ago, and as before even if you did get it working it'll be in SD.

You don’t need the discs/xml now to redeem these. You should be able to just enter the code directly into iTunes like any other. I don’t think any of the Disney disc based codes were expired (since those only redeemed SD).

Yes, tried redeeming with app, "Code Not Valid" error.

These codes USED to work, I understand it's an OLD 2011 movie, release. I think now Disney has probably killed all these old XML codes by now.

Thanks

It's one of those things where you buy movie for wife hoping to get digital out of it to, SD yes. But it failed, it's going back to AMAZON.

There listing IS still incorrect.

You should post how you finally got it to work in case anyone else also runs into a similar issue.
