Angry The Real Stuff

Is it just that there is still a competition with HD that Blu-ray is releasing the most marketable Hollywood (trash) blockbuster-list bullshit to garnish huge sales and they can't afford to go into more obscure foreign film and arthouse projects? How long before the real stuff? Sorry don't cast me with subjectivism, the lists I'm looking at are pathetic as far as deep esoterical interests, I don't think people who want to see Transformers would argue on that level. Don't get me wrong, the reason I'm progressing to Blu-ray is because I see some really good stuff like the Kubrick titles (though Eyes Wide Shut I hear is a lackluster transfer and that's the one I'd practically orgasm to as far as visual appreciation on Blu-ray), for TV.. probably The Sopranos, and you know other promising releases I do catch, but they are hardly the majority. I would love to see for example The Wreckmeister Harmonies on Blu-ray , and I know Criterion has been discussed a lot and I'm not sure where I stand on that. I think their transfers are an art in itself...

I'm guessing it'll be years (?) before Blu-ray has gotten successful enough to offer more shit that the art cinephile crowd wants to see.
