Panasonic external Subtitles from USB - Blu-ray Forum

I‘ve read that Panasonic Players should be able to add external subtitles to disc playback.
I trying to watch some Japanese Blu-ray’s (no engl subtitles) and add SRT files from a USB stick.
I‘ve tried it on a UBP424 and 824but none of them worked.

Can someone please help me out?

It will only work with a region-free mod/firmware.

The usual commercial mod available is rattlebyte - just Google for it. It requires soldering some wires to connect the mod. If your player is on firmware 1.76 or lower you can use a free software mod which is available on the avforums site. It's not a simple usb install.
