Obviously not seen the film yet (and won't before January because the cowards won't release it as a Christmas-movie here), but "as soon as there is a presale" purchase for sure.

Pretty sure only the US get it in December, for everyone else it's January. Very weird choice from Universal considering the movie is ready and has already screened for critics. Think it would've worked well as counter programing to the family movies playing this month, but oh well.

Got tix for the 26th. Really wish this one would play on one of our IMAX or Dolby Cinema screens but, alas, just the usual standard showings around these parts.

Yet another film that'll look better on the OLED!

I'll probably be adding this to his other films I have in my library. Hoping this is at least as good as his previous efforts.

Getting this right away. Some of Eggers older films on 4K are going for obscene prices now (The Lighthouse, The Witch).

Watching Eggers now reminds me of when I started watching Nolan or Villeneuve. I don't think he'll ever put out a film that's not at least good and most will be great. IMO

He seems to know exactly what he wants to see in his head before it's shot and manages to capture it on film. It's a Kubrickian quality I don't see in many directors.

The 4K of The Lighthouse hasn't changed. It's just in the A24 shop so it's always been expensive.

Second Sight in the UK has standard editions of The VVitch on 4K for reasonable prices even with shipping if compared with what the American copy is going for. Also, the Second Sight disc has color timing that was approved by Eggers which makes it superior to the American Lionsgate edition. FYI

Eggers is the only director alive that I actually go back to his films and rewatch. It's nice to see Willem Defoe still going at it too.

(Dafoe rubs his beard, nods in agreement, scratches at his skivvies, and farts twice, approvingly.....)

I'm assuming the 1.85 aspect ratio is just a placeholder? IIRC Nosferatu was framed for 1.66.

1.66:1 in the clip. Also the DOP said something like that months ago. Changes made.

There's also a widely available Arrow version. I believe it's exactly the same version of the film and has even more extras than the A24 shop version.

Nosferatu is going to be this years' Minus One for me. I think I'll end up buying any and every release I can get my hands on...
