Thumbs up The Time Machine 2002

This is the best remake of the HG Wells classic to date. Great music and story.
Can't wait to see this in blu ray
Professor Alexander Hartdegen theme by - Klaus Badelt is a haunting tune

I like this as well, especially the first 20 minutes or so as it has a great Victorian feel with the street cars, carriages, snow etc. I would get this.

It's terrible when compared to the original, but on its own it's decent. I'd buy it for $8 or less.

(Okay, now you're just trolling...
Or did you just mean "Best REMAKE, compared to the 70's TV movie?")

So, "It's good if you've never seen the original in your life"?--Yeah, that seems to be the consensus.

(Of course, if you HAVE, it changes the judgment somewhat

"The Time Machine" Trailer - YouTube

I saw the original with Rod Taylor when it was first released as a kid. For its time it was fantastic. I even bought the Dell comic. But it is dated when you go back and see it.
The 2002 remake fits better for our day and age.
The next one (as it is a tradition to remake this classic will appeal to the newer audiences, as long as the story isn't overwhelmed by CGI or whatever future FX will be)

Default Day one purchase!

I would pick this up in a hearbeat! One of my fav sci-fis of all time, and more appealing that the original imo. Let's hope this happens soon!!!

I, too, love this movie. Have rented it countless times from Blockbuster (have their mail service). I love the time moving forward sequence...that stuff fascinates me. It's the kind of movie that is perfect for BR. Hope it comes out soon.

EDIT--Oh, and I have also seen the original film back in middle school. Loved that movie also, but haven't seen it since then I don't think.
