20th Century Fox Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials (2015) [No 3D Blu-ray]

http://www.comingsoon.net/movie/the-...s2015#/slide/1

Comingsoon.net has this listed as 3D. I really, really hope so. Director Wes Ball did great work with the 3D animated short called Ruin on The Maze Runner blu ray and i know he has huge passion for 3D. As The Maze Runner was a big success I am hoping Fox have indeed given him the go ahead for 3D for the sequel. For the record i really enjoyed the first movie, one of the few YA movies I've liked.

This sequel will be released in September 2015.

The first one would have worked great in 3d with all of those maze scenes.

Hmmm this is most confusing. I wish studios would just release official press releases on these things so we 3D fans don't have to sleuth around the net trying to find out if the damn movie is gonna be available in 3D or not! I'm from the UK so have no idea but until your above post EVERRET i had believed the 3D for this was no longer happening.

At the very least, there may be one available for import, then.

The US trailer of Scorch Trials sadly didn't say anything about 3D when I saw it show in theaters, as I was paying close attention hoping it would, knowing it's related to the animated 3D Ruin trailer with the guy on the motorcycle chased by the Terminators.

While I'd like this to be in strong 3D to get me in the theater, I haven't seen any mention of 3D in the trailers themselves, but remember Need For Speed's last minute addition of 3D (which turned out well considering), anything's possible, though I agree, this likely won't be in 3D in the US.

Here's the 2nd UK Trailer.

It looks like the UK is getting the 3D release. I just saw a bus carrying the poster with "See it in 3D" on it.

Yes I was surprised too! I saw the trailer at my local Odeon before Mission Impossible and there was no mention of the 3D at the end. But if the poster on the bus says so, I'll go with that!

Sad times where you've got to look at buses to find something out.

If this film is in 3D, then I hope they release it in a 3D Bluray double pack with a 3D-conversion of The Maze Runner. I've yet to read the books and watch the first film but I'd definitely watch it in 3D. I love 3D.

(Having said that, I'd probably wait until the entire series has been made into films anyway and buy a complete 3D Bluray box set).

The first film will not be converted into 3D. I will stake my entire 900+ blu ray collection on that claim. I assume you're joking with your above post so perhaps I shouldn't take it seriously.

Let us know how the 3D conversion looks, and if possible, who converted it in the end credits for those who get to see the 3D version. Thanks!

I would've seen this in the US if they had it in 3D, as I'm a fan of post apocalyptic movies, though I wonder how much of this is spent in the ruined city.

I don't see why I would be joking.

Jurassic Park was post-converted into 3D. So why not The Maze Runner?

Jurassic Park made an insane amount of money, was directed by an A-list Hollywood director, spawned three sequels and entered the cultural consciousness.

The Maze Runner has done none of these things. It's not even in the same league as I, Robot or Predator, though I guess if Jumper got a conversion then anything is possible. I don't see them using that JVC conversion technology again though...

Dude really? You are clearly not being serious when you say something like that. Don't want to sound harsh but part of me thinks this some brilliant trolling going on here

Cool. My local cinema a Vue has no listing for a 3D version yet, my next local one an Empire also has no listing for a 3D version yet. Wonder if there's a chance it could be exclusive to showcase, which would be really weird, but then it's weird how under the radar this 3D release seems to be.

Bought tickets for a double feature of the first and Scorch Trials a few weeks ago, and when I checked earlier it did indeed note Scorch to be in 3D. Didn't see this one coming.
