1. The Towering Inferno (The biggest challenge is trying to find out who could play Steve McQueen's and Paul Newman's performances pitch-perfectly. Maybe both Russell Crowe [in McQueen's role] and Daniel Craig [in Newman's role].)

2. Logan's Run (They gotta find the right person to rival Michael York's performance in the 1976 classic.)

3. The Other Side of Midnight (For those that remember the 1977 movie.)

4. Rosemary's Baby (Not that it needs a remake, because Rosemary's Baby is great the way it is, even if they did make a crappy TV sequel!)

5. Arthur (Even after 27 years, the 1981 Dudley Moore classic could use just a little update, but not too much. Hope it won't be like the Jude Law version of "Alfie"!)

6. Murder on the Orient Express (Albert Finney is still the best Hercule Poirot, even if Paramount - or some other studio - decides to do a remake!)

Why don't we just stop with the remakes?

Without remakes we wouldn't have Ben-Hur, or The Maltese Falcon, or The Magnificent Seven, or A Fistful of Dollars, or more recently The Departed.

It was originally {and much better I might add} an asian film called "Infernal Affairs"

As for remakes that SHOULD be made:

The Adventures of Buckaroo Bonzai Across the 8th Dimension.

Logan

I wouldn't mind seeing a Midway remake. I totally enjoyed that whole Battle 360 series and they could probably do a decent job with it.

Reefer Madness was remade a few years back. They turned it into a musical with Stephen Weber.

Another one that they have been threatening to remake for years is Soylent Green. In the right hands, that one could be good.

Thank goodness they backed off the idea of remaking Watership Down (with CGI rabbits). Not so sure that would have been one to take the kids to.

Wow, two posts I saw brought me back. The first is Logan's Run, which I think is already in the hopper for a remake. The second is the classic, Legend of Hell House. Great creepy ghost story !!! I would also like to see some more original movies as well ! What are we going to see a remake of CHIP'S, Adam 12, Jaws, ?? Some shows should be left alone !
