The Mummy/ The Mummy returns: November/ december 08 in a trilogy pack with the third.

Shouldn't that be '4-Pack', considering many consider Scorpion King to be the 3rd film?

no the third TRUE movie is being released in August 2008 in theaters.

and that would still be four.

Wouldn't it just be a 3-pack since theres: The Mummy, Mummy Returns, and Scorpion King? Why 4-pack? what's the 4th? Unless they're making a new one...

Yes new Mummy movie this summer... sucks how the original girl isn't coming back... they are replacing her with someone else... she was hot!!!

Why would ANYONE pick The Mummy franchise as the first release for Universal? Hello??? There is a trilogy out there that EVERYONE is waiting for from Universal. Ever heard of the Jason Bourne Trilogy Box Set? This my friend, will be an ideal first Blu-ray release for Universal.

It was released on DVD but never on HD DVD.

I didn't say the Mummy franchise would be first. I was speculating a date for it.

Like I said before I think the Bourne Trilogy will be the first Blu-Rays for Universal, it's their premier trilogy and their most successful movie franchise since the Mummy. Beside I've seen the first two on HD DVD, courtesy of my ridiculous a$$ cousin, and they look amazing so I don't think they would have to re-encode them for blu-ray.

I would guess in about 3-4 months, the real question is whether they will re-encode or just port over the movie? If it's a port, i would say sooner.
