Default BenQ TK700STi: 3D ok? Any alternative projector at same $1,700 price with same spec?

Hi all

I was hoping for some help. I have been looking for a projector within this:

CRITERIA
-ideally under £1400 ( USD $ 1,700)
-short throw, for mounting on ceiling, keeps it safe from toddlers
-play ps5 games
-perhaps most importantly watching my large 3d blu ray collection on.
-watch some streaming and 4K.

Some suggested BenQ TK700STi ( https://www.benq.eu/en-uk/projector/.../tk700sti.html ) which seemingly met that criteria (£1,300 / USD 1,600), and seems to mostly have great reviews by YouTubers and publications. Including praising response time helping gaming.

However I noticed some online said the 3d glasses unsynced and resynced periodically especially during white or bright movie moments. And this may be due to DLP link? Some hinted this might be lesser or no issue for official BenQ 3d glasses. Example forum posts:

https://www.reddit.com/r/projectors/...benq_tk700sti/

And some forum posts elsewhere indicated people struggled to get 3d working at all or even sent it back and got a different model (maybe old firmware since sorted!?)

I’m avoiding ultra short throw this time because of budget and because, projectors low down may get attacked by our toddlers.

Anyone have any knowledge on this (or anyone have one of these BenQ TK700STi projectors and had good or bad 3d experience) ?

Additionally anyone have an alternative recommendation that meets the criteria mentioned at top?

Is there a strong enough reason to up the budget if a machine meeting criteria but not quite in that budget?

The TK700STi is a very good projector in that price range. 3D has been amazing on every BenQ projector I’ve owned, especially on my current one. I don’t think you could go wrong with that projector and the latency is very low, so should work great for your PS5 as well.

Edit: the only time I’ve had a DLP link sync issue on any of my projectors is if I try to look at my phone while playing back a movie. Doesn’t happen all the time, I usually keep it facing down or out of sight and I don’t have any sync issues. Brightness of a scene has never caused any problems.

A follow-up, I went ahead with this.

I'm really happy with Benq TK700STi and its 3D and movies/gaming

I originally experienced an issue in which 3D movies on this projector had flashes of green everytime there was too much white or brightness. It turned out that it was the glasses. Several different brands of glasses did not work. I thought it was the projector because different glasses caused same effect, and even had the projector shipped to BenQ to check it and tweak 3D settings.

Glasses that caused green effect:
-DLP-Link 3D Glasses USB Rechargeable Movie For Acer Optoma BenQ Sharp Projectors
-2pcs Boblov JX-30 3D Active Shutter Glasses DLP-Link Eyeswears For Optoma BenQ Acer BK

But then I tried XGIMI DLP Link 3D Glasses Liquid Crystal which did work
These worked with almost none of the 'green flash' issue on bright images so happy with these::
