Well, Balboa was a thug for hire in the original Rocky, with boxing experience so that is where the story will pick up with a new actor playing Rocky before he gets his first big break in part 1. This being part 0.

Will really depend on the actor playing him, but I think Stallone is a good writer who puts a lot of heart into his stories. Even Rambo 2008 had some emotional moments IMO.
