Default Le Chat qui Fume Discussion Thread

How in the world is there no dedicated thread for this fine French label? And it had to take a bloody Yank to start one

I have Les Trois Visages De La Peur, Scalps and Bianco Apache all preordered. I know absolutely zilch about any of these films but at least two of them are right up my alley. The Bruno Mattei very late Spaghetti Westerns are my most-anticipated even though I expect them to be complete trash I know even less about Trois Visages but based on the description it sounds like a safe blind buy. All of these come in lovely Mediabooks (I think) so if they're total stinkers I can always sell them off. But I suspect that won't happen - the covers look too nice.

Two of the films in this trio have database entries on this site but SCALPS does not. Did someone think the film not worthy of adding?

You do know that 'Les Trois Visages De La Peur' is Bava's Three Faces of Fear right?

I do now

I admit I make a lot of blind purchasing decisions based on artwork alone. When the film(s) in question turn out to actually be good, it's makes this whole collecting thing worthwhile

Hope to stlll get a copy of Knife Under the Throat, although I'm wondering if that is the kind of film which Mondo Macabro might eventually do a release of in the States, like they're doing with a film released in Germany on Blu-ray last year (Brigade of Death). I've not got any of this French label's titles, but from what I've read and been told, they're a quality label.

Unfortunately, Le Chat's Three Faces of Fear is not English friendly.

Looking forward to their release of Link which is supposed to include the longer cut. Hopefully it has the stereo track and no forced subtitles.

The next wave of Le Chat's pre-orders are now live. Just got my order in for the big bundle plus the Rollin film! Now my wallet is smoking. Can't wait to get them!

Yes, I got the two UHD combos and the discounted Erotissimo pack of 8 Blu-rays, all with booklets. I love erotic films, so I was incredibly excited for this round of pre-orders, but I had no idea that all 8 titles would be English-friendly until earlier this week. The Rollin is obviously right in that genre, so the only one for which I'm taking a leap of faith is Clash.

I did the same, and CLASH is also a blind buy for me, but I've liked everything Le Chat Qui Fume has released so I'll take the risk. The only pre-orders I passed on were the ones that weren't English friendly - LES LOULOUS which looked interesting but didn't have subs, and the Swedish erotic films, which are out in Sweden with English friendly editions.

I really hope this is the beginning of more Rollin on UHD!

Have the release dates for the new pre-orders been announced?

I'm realllllly tempted to get the 8-pack and Bacchanales Sexuelles UHD but $30 shipping might be too painful.

Might just wait to see if Diabolik gets this.

I was gonna pull the trigger on it but now I see that they don't seem to take credit card? Just PayPal? Which means another $10-$15 in international currency fees. On top of the $30 shipping.

They're really making this tough lol.

Grabbed the Jean Rollin 4k right when it went live, didn't want to miss out on that one.

Bit the bullet. Bought the 8-pack and the 4K Bacchanales Sexuelles. $195 shipped.

Didn't want to spend that much but I think it'll be worth it.

I'm a bit confused. Is the "Bacchaneles Sexuelles" with booklet a pre-order? If so, any idea when it will ship?

It's supposed to be end of July but as far as I know there isn't an exact date yet.

For anyone who's ordered from them, what were the shipping options?

I'm in the USA and I'm pretty sure there was only one option, it was called Delivengo. Some French shipping company I guess.

It was ridiculously expensive, $26.50 USD.

I bought 9 titles though so I'm not sure if that brings the shipping price up or not.
