Default Things that make you walk out of/turn off a movie

Is there anything so off putting to you that would make you want to turn off a movie or walk out if in a theatre?

The only thing that would literally make me walk out is over the top violence.
I walked out of Seven Psychopaths. I've seen more violent films but I just wasn't expecting something that dark that day. The throat slitting made me wanna hurl. Besides that, I found it a tad too depressing.

A boring, pointless plot will do it everytime. Dont waste my time. I enjoy a few artsy films but most of them fall into this category and Ive pulled the plug on many of them.

Ive pulled the plug on plenty of films. The logic is this: Even if they have a better second half or start to get good, Id never sit through it again and am probably already torked off due to wastimg my time so its a no go deal.

Life is too short to "stick it out" and wait until the end. If the first half hour sucks then Im DONE. No reason to hang around.

What do you think of Drive?

No nothing with the film directly, the only time I have walked out of a cinema was due to rowdy teenagers.
I was close years ago watching Volcano,I thought it was that bad but we went to a late showing after the pub and I decided just to go for a doze instead(I don't think I missed much)

Torture porn. Made the mistake of seeing the first "Hostel" in theaters because of the Tarantino name attached to it. I have no problem with violence, even over the top or stylized violence. But it has to have SOMETHING to do with advancing the story. That kind of violence just for the sake of shocking me, I have no time for.

For me, it depends on my level of interest going into the movie. For instance, my interest in seeing "Drive" increased dramatically when it beat out "Super 8" for the top spot in the top 20 poll list of 2011 movies in a forum on this site. I loved "Super 8", so I figured "Drive" had to be good. Regarding movies that I had interest going in, "Drive" is the only one that I can ever think of wanting to stop watching because it was so incredibly boring (even then, I stayed until the end). Other than that one time, I can't remember turning away (or wanting to) from a movie. I'm of the opinion, that you can't say a movie is good or bad if you didn't watch the whole thing.

Interesting,I was actually the opposite,I was so looking forward to Super 8 which after I watched it I felt let down.
A mate brought Drive round one day and I had read mixed reports on here,I really enjoyed it and when i bought it myself and watched it for the second time I loved it.
I rewatched Super 8 and I just think it's an ordinary film.

If I would have known he wrote Alien Resurrection, I would probably feel the same way. Luckily I just found out about 2 months ago.

Only movie I walked out of was Solo, mostly because my then girlfriend proposed a better offer.

Only movie I cut off was Green Hornet. I think I fooled myself into thinking I liked it more than I did when I watched it on my Evo 3D so I bought it. The Mrs. & I got about 10 minutes in til we decided to watch something else.

I even sat through the Star Wars Lifeday Special last night so for me to walk out/cut off a movie takes a whole lot.

Any film that has a negative view/undertones of Christianity. That's my big one as my faith is very important to me, and things like that really offend me. It really takes a lot to offend me, but that one will do it every time. There has only ever been a select few movie I have turned off because of being repulsed like that.

I feel the same way, although I have yet to actually leave a movie, for any reason. "This Is The End" came close though. It's too bad, because it was for the most part a fairly funny movie, but I did not know going in that the apocalypse in the movie was going to be the apocalypse as described in Revelation specifically.

That being said, I do have a small amount of discretion when seeing movies. For instance, I have never started watching Inappropriate Movie, or Madea's Witness Protection, and Jack and Jill, and so on, but I would be liable to leave them.

Only thing I really hate is gratuitous sex humor.

If I see that Quentin Tarentino directed it, it's not worth my time.
