Default A question about the Star Wars DVD sets

I'm interesting in getting these, new and sealed if possible, but I'm running with this doubt in my mind, the pics I've seen of the prequel trilogy pack includes 'The Story of Star Wars' or some other instead of the Disc 2 of Episode III. I'm assuming these are bootlegs.. can any of you tell me how to distinguish? Since I'm wanting to buy a sealed one, I don't want to spend too much money and find out it's not real or it is missing a disc.

It's tough. I wouldn't say they are bootlegs, but they are definitely swapped discs. The Story of Star Wars DVD was part of a Walmart bundle with the Episode III DVD.

In principle, you should be safe with a sealed pack.

No, these are bootlegs - I've seen two vids on Youtube and pics of it across Ebay, and not only the inclusion of the swapped disc, but also.. the quality of the ''printed'' discs is worse, with the colour is wrong.

Sealed, sadly, isn't a warrantee, because most of the sealed ones come from China. That's a massive giveaway as well.. :/

Thank you for replying, by the way. I appreciate it.

I did a quick search on eBay and I see what you mean. Unfortunately in a sealed box I didn't catch anything on the packaging that could tip you off on its legitimacy.

I assume you want these editions specifically because of the bonus discs. I guess contrary to my original comment the safest way is opened listings with the pictures of the discs.

P.S: What a difference in price compared to the UK market.

Well, it's a funny story, I live in a PAL region - I already bought my country's Star Wars DVDs, I want to get the US ones as well... to get the NTSC version. Because I can tell the difference.. and well.. I have to get them physically, because.. digital doesn't last, physical does. So it forces me to buy things two times just for that..

And I was looking for these sets because, they can be cheaper than trying to get the OT Limiteds on their own (specially sealed or new) if you're lucky.. and well, since I'm buying the movies twice I want at least a different package and this slim discs help me with the space in my collection. The funny thing is, since these are flimsy cardboard cheap.. good luck finding a copy in decent condition..
