I’m excited for this. One of my very favorite Frankensteins. I only have the DVD and never imported the US.

I so wish for a new transfer with no black crush and less excessive orange tinting.
It's the only Cushing Frankenstein that does not have an excellent blu-ray anywhere in the world

Received Cover C today (date was pushed back to September 30) and there’s a lot more extras included than announced. And even a second BD with the doc Hammer Horror: The Warner Bros Years is included. Also the booklet is not 32 pages instead it’s 44 pages. Great surprise by Anolis!

Extras on the main disc:

Audio commentary with Steve Haberman & Constantine Nasr
Audio commentary with Dr. Rolf Giesen
Audio commentary with Uwe Sommerlad & Volker Kronz
Super 8 Fassung
In tune with Baron Frankenstein - David Huckvale
Frankenstein Must be Made - Interview Bill Westley & Neil Binney
American & German Trailer
American TV spot
International & German press kit
Filmprogram
Picture gallery

Edit:

Normally I avoid to buy Mediabooks, but this cover artwork was too beautiful to pass and go for the Keep Case It‘s the German VHS cover.

I don’t know, it only just arrived. And there’s nothing fancy about a Mediabook. They spreaded like cancer and drowned our market.

How does the film compare to the Warner USA blu-ray?

Or, how does the film look to you if you have nothing to compare?

It looked good to me, but it's probably the same transfer as the WA. I owned this last time on DVD, so I'm very happy with the BD. And the amount of bonus material was a nice surprise. One of my overall favorite German releases of 2024.

The USA Warner Blu-ray has a lot of black crush that takes the life out of the image.
The color tends a bit too orange.

How did those things look to you on the Anolis disc ?
Did they do any tinkering (as in, is there black crush and are flesh tones too orange) ?

Please let us know how the film image looks compared to the old USA Blu-ray (which has too much black crush and looks like someone liked the color Orange).
I love this movie, and want to see it getting top treatment.

Oh, well. No one to compare the Warner Blu-ray to the Anolis ?

I have heard that it is the same as Warner but with some tweaks —
It's the tweaks I would like to hear about.

Warner has the negative and it's high time they went back and did a new scan and resto. The current master looks like crap, in all honesty.

I agree.
Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed is the only Hammer Frankenstein film that does not look great in at least some part of the world.

I have heard that Anolis did some tweaking with their release of Must Be Destroyed, and I wish someone who has it could give a comparison to the USA Warner disc.
