Hey gang! Started this due to my being a little lazy and not always wanting to start new threads for my Star Wars 3.75" figure questions/observations/photos and figured there was more than enough others here to keep a chat going with the same from them.
I'm 45 and had literally everything Star Wars when I was a kid (except for an At-At and that big Imperial Shuttle). My father gave all my playsets and vehicles to my lesser fortunate cousin when I was a little older, but I'd had kept all my figures...until ebay came on the horizon. I made a good $ back then on them and would have done MUCH better now, but hey...what can you do? I'm a huge Star Wars fan, have always been...but I'd initially sold it all to upgrade to something like super-premium. Never happened. Now I'm married and I've got a soon-to-be 5-year old son who, without me forcing it on him, truly loves the Star Wars universe. Naturally...I buy him everything I possibly can and it has taken over the "man room" in our home. lol There is way more to that story and I'd love to share some of the vintage stuff I've gotten him and that we actually play with. But today, as we were watching some Star Wars Rebels with breakfast I began to wonder... In the last couple years (via the Force Awakens and Rogue One figure lines) they've come out with not only all the Rebels team, but some of the peripheral characters as well in non-animated looking figures. They've got a mini-ish Y-Wing that came with Kanan and a mini-ish A-Wing that came with Hera. Where in the world is The Ghost ship? I'm lost on that one. You have the whole team and don't have their vessel? It is available for the little Fisher-Price happy figures...it is available from Hot Wheels and I believe the SW Black vehicle line too....but not the figures? |

I know, right? they've come out with so many other one-second screen time characters from the cantina, why not, at this point? They seem more conservative now than in decades past.

I've lucked out and gotten some really good deals lately. Would LOVE to hear some other peeps deals - especially with the ends of Toys R Us.
Just last week in Target, I nabbed that exclusive Return of the Jedi 3-pack of the Emperor, Luke and the Royal Guard. Initially sold for $25, I got it for $8. Even when I'm broke, I just can't pass a deal up like that for my little dude! Again, I really loved the sculpt of the Luke; in the black outfit from that final lightsaber, he really looks better than any other incarnations of that figure. What I thought was funny is that they're force linked figures...but, um, did the Emperor's Royal Guards EVER utter a single word on camera? lol I need to get batteries for his force link, so I don't know what the heck he says yet. Also, while I find it insanely difficult to deal with most people on it, the Faceook Marketplace is somewhere I've gotten some AMAZING deals. My most recent one was the Original Trilogy Collection Millennium Falcon, in its box, for a whopping $30. I couldn't believe I'd gotten it that cheap. I had a 1977 Falcon donated from a friend that I was slowly restoring, but this one is so much better with the lights and sounds. It is missing a few minor pieces, but with ebay, I should be able to track them down soon...and I think the 1977 Falcon's pieces fit right on this one, which makes it even easier to complete. Today is his 5th birthday and because we were out so late we'll open up that BB8 playset that comes with Snoke and his guard. I nabbed one a Target for just under $50. After I'd gotten mine, TRU was then blowing them out at just about the same price, so hopefully some of you got that playset for yourselves or your little ones. |

Got my Vintage Collection Rogue One Assault Tank in the mail yesterday. Pre-ordered it via BBuy. This one is going to by mine, rather than my son's simply due to the cost. I'll let him play with it plenty, but I like having the option of putting it away when I'm not home so that he doesn't bust something. I mean, I'm not used to $80 for a vehicle. I'd be lying if I didn't say that stung a little, but the packaging (I may actually keep it this time, when I open it) is awesome and I'm sure this is going to be uber-detailed. We both love Rogue One so I'm glad they're getting another vehicle.
Also, in a Best Buy brick and mortar, I picked up the Star Wars Black Rey and Speeder for $15! I didn't even really want it, but for $15 from $60? Yeah, put me down for one. lol |

I've started collecting POTF toys myself. Yes, the 90's ones.
They fall into that unfortunate middle ground of being too outdated to appeal to modern collectors anymore (plus I bet at least some of them still feel burned about the 90's toy collecting bubble bursting), while still not considered "vintage" like the original Kenner line. Which means that most of them can be acquired for dirt cheap. Which is a good thing because it's the toyline of my childhood, thus I can connect with it on a personal level ![]() |

Also, I've found many of the vehicles to simply be better than many of the originals. They come with less stickers and have more detailed paint jobs on them. I've gotten things like Slave I and even Luke's X-Wing in their original packaging way cheaper than I ever would have the originals. No matter where I get these things from, I always let people know that we'll be playing with them. They're not just being packed into a tote or something. More often than not, they get a chuckle out of it. |

Ditto on the vehicles tho. I find even the vehicles to be reasonably priced considering their age, and that's probably what prompted me to start collecting the line; I happened across the Millennium Falcon, with peeling decals but complete in box around $80 and thought "huh, that's a lot less than I expected" - I missed that particular one but ended up getting another, MISB one for even less than that, so I guess I came out as the winner ![]() |

From Half-Price Books, I got a 3.75" Anakin Skywalker (more a pre-Mustafar Vader) for $6. And then I ordered some of the Dark Empire figures from Amazon, each around $14-16 (clone Emperor, Luke, and Leia), this week. There were some other figures I ordered as "add-ons" from Amazon a month or so back. Holographic Emperor for around $5. 3.75" Rey and Jyn for about $1.50-$2 each. Funko Pop Director Krennic for $4 and change. And from Best Buy, $3 Kylo Ren Funko Pop and $5 Sabine Wren in clearance. The other figure I picked up was Black Series Darth Revan for $21. Maybe not a deal, but I wasn't sure if I should wait around and feared price would go up at some point. So it sounds like Target is maybe a place I should keep my eye on for some cool SW stuff at good prices? |

I'm very thorough when I go to stores...as a kid I used to hide things I couldn't immediately buy, until I told my dad and then we'd come back to get it...so now as an adult, I look everywhere in the isles, especially behind other toys.
So yeah, that 3-pack was up the "star wars" isle, but it wasn't there with all the other SW toys. With Toys R Us gone, Target and Walmart have become my "go to" stores, especially since they get exclusives for Star Wars (and Jurassic Park/World, which my boy also loves). You've nabbed a lot recently it seems. That Darth Revan is pretty cool but I don't know enough about the character to add him to our collection. |

Just got back from my local Target and they had Kylo Ren and his Tie Silencer for a whopping $14. Also, the huge BB-8 2-in-1 Mega Playset was down to $29!!! I was amazed to see these things so low. lol Nearly bought them on general principle...but my boy has them and I NEVER buy to re-sell.
But if you have a Target near ya, go give it a look. |

Speaking of Kylo Ren. I saw the figure with force link (I think) at Best Buy for around $6-something. Which seemed like a good price kinda, though I haven't been that interested in the force link aspect and so didn't pick it up. What's the BB-8 playset? Is that for the 3.75" figures or for smaller figures? |

Oh, man...
I'm going to be tempted to go and look for it, but I really, really shouldn't. If I'd put it anywhere, it'd be in my office where I've got some figures...but, its probably not practical at all. But that price for that kind of set... |

![]() In seriousness, thanks for posting that deal. As you said: Quote:
Now, it still feels very impractical for me to have it, but at that price... It, fortunately, occurred to me to check inventory at brickseek first, and it turned out my store had none. So went to another nearby store that was listed as having it in stock at that price. In store, I thought I found it and thought “man, that’s a huge box”, then realized I’d found the electronic BB-8 toy. Then my heart sank when I didn’t see the Playset. Asked an employee who showed me to the clearance section and after some hunting, we found it. He first said “that can’t be right,” because it was marked as $50, but I asked him to scan it, and it came up $29.99. I have some 3.75” figures from the recent movies, but I’m more interested in displaying some of my other figures from the older movies and EU. You’re right. Target seems to be the place to watch for SW toys. EDIT: It sounds like you have one, right? I watched a YouTube review that measured it (in Playset mode) as being about 24 inches across and 18 or 19 inches tall? How about the depth, or measurement from front to back? I’m trying to figure out if I might be able to put it at the back of my office on the ledge in front of the window. Though looking again at that picture you posted, I don’t think that’s gonna work. lol I'm just glad someone can get the deals! I'd gotten mine on a sale earlier in the year at $40 and I was ecstatic.
My Target don't have overflowing shelves (do any?) but you can certainly luck out with getting some cheap good items. As for measurements, I have no idea. I bought it for my son, so it is in our nerd room on a table for him to play with, along with other vintage playsets like the two Hoth bases and Dagobah. |
