Nice front but I decided three in that I don't like the movie lines on the backs. Reminds me of those Lyric Videos for songs.

This is actually really great news. It means they're no longer waiting for anniversaries to release them, so we should get the rest of them too without having to wait several years.

It's a cool looking steenbok and part 4 is probably tied for my favorite film in the series.

But it's not 4k and I already own the Scream Factory set.

Big relief, to be sure. Having to wait until sometime in the 2050s for Jason X would be insane. By then, we actually would have cryo freeze and space travel.

Reposting my thoughts on this release from the other thread made, because why not:

Weird they didn't continue the releases for the 40th Anniversary but I suppose it makes sense that they'd instead continue the release of one steelbook a year for the series.

I guess this is the end of the line unless Paramount wants to do 4K transfers and/or print individual discs for parts 5-8 too. But since that would involve doing something more than repackaging already existing discs, I doubt it'll happen.

R.I.P. to Ted White who passed away in his sleep on October 14th at 96 yrs. old.

His portrayal of Jason was incredible...savage, brutal and riveting. Mr. White's talents are one of the reasons why The Final Chapter remains my favorite film in the franchise nearly 40 years after its release. I'll definitely be picking this up.

No reason New Line can't do something similar with the last two (three for people who consider Jason Goes to Hell canon) if they continue to prove popular, which they seem to be, even when they were being released on the anniversaries before now.

If you get them when they're first released, usually they're only $9.99. That price alone is good for the steelbook itself.
