Canada Peak Everything (2025)

Quote:
Paris-based Indie Sales has acquired international sales rights to “Peak Everything,” a romantic comedy directed by Canadian helmer Anne Émond, in the run-up to its world premiere at Cannes Directors’ Fortnight.

“Peak Everything” stars Patrick Hivon (“A Brother’s Love”) and Piper Perabo (“Yellowstone). Hivon plays Adam, a kind-hearted kennel-owner who is hypersensitive and borderline depressed. To help combat his eco-anxiety, Adam orders a therapeutic solar lamp, which leads him to meet Tina, a radiant woman with a voice that soothes all of his worries.

“Peak Everything” hails from Sylvain Corbeil at Metafilms, the powerhouse Canadian production company behind Matthew Rankin’s “Universal Language” which won the inaugural Director’s Fortnight prize in 2024, as well as the works of Xavier Dolan, most notably the Cannes Jury Prize winner “Mommy,” Monia Chokri’s “The Nature of Love,” and Charlotte Le Bon’s “Falcon Lake.”

The cast is completed by Connor Jessup (“Locke & Key”), Gilles Renaud, Elizabeth Mageren, Éric K. Boulianne, and Gord Rand (“Orphan Black”). A celebrated Canadian filmmaker, Edmond previously directed “Night #1,” which won Toronto’s Jury’s Special Mention; “Our Loved Ones,” “Nelly” and “Young Juliet.”

Indie Sales is representing the film internationally, outside of North America. Alfred Deragne, head of acquisitions at Indie Sales described “Peak Everything” as a film that is “both clairvoyant and resolutely uplifting.” “It is a most-welcome ode to love in times when making sense of the world is particularly difficult, and we think that Anne’s unique voice – and Patrick Hivon and Piper Perabo’s performances – will strike a chord with optimists worldwide,” Deragne continued.

The key crew includes cinematographer Olivier Gossot, editor Anita Roth, production designer Sylvain Lemaîtreand an orginal score by Christophe Lamarche-Ledoux.
