Default If 3D makes another comeback, would it be possible for Netflix/Disney/etc. to add 3D?

Question is in the title.

Not without mass-market 3D equipment.

Are you not aware of all the 3D movies on Disney+ and iTunes ?

I'm pretty sure this is very out of date and there's more because this is very old info.

If only Disney+ 3D movies were available in a similar fashion to Vudu's 3D movies and not just the AVP.

I only have one 3D title on Vudu that I know about and I understand it won't play on any of the VR headsets.

Maybe if VR ever catches on 3D will have a slight comeback but by then immersive video will be more interesting.

3D looks kind of flat in a VR environment.

Yes, they sure could. Netflix even used to have a few films streaming 3D over 10 years ago, like Beowulf for example. So it is ancient tech so to speak.

There's a handful of movies on that list I don't have because I don't want them. But it would be nice to watch these HDR enhanced versions of the movies I do have. The Avatar movies, GotG2, Thor 3 and even Captain Marvel already look amazing when watched on a large screen. Add HDR and they should look absolutely stunning The first Avengers movie in HDR is the original MCU glow-up so it's a little strange that it is not there.

Honestly unless something changes the trend, it's not a question of "if" but "when".

1922 was when the first 3D movie was shown theatrically

Then from 1950 to 1955 is when the highest amount of 3D movies were produced for audiences (at the time, this was record was broken after 2009)

Again in the 1980's the trend came back, think Friday the 13th Part 3 in 3D, and Jaws 3-D.

And most recently the 2010's, kicking off with Avatar reigniting the 3D craze.

So if you follow the logic here, we are on a 30-year cycle for 3D, which means around 2040 you can expect this to come full circle once again, last for a few years before everyone gets sick of it, or thinks it sucks.

I'll be 70 in 2040 myself, so it's possible I'll live long enough to see it come around again.

I'll be 91 the next time Halley's Comet comes around (if I live that long) in 2061

Hopefully we'll see each other at 2040's version of the Metroplex for the great 3D revival!

Make the first one "House of Wax."

BTW, I'm actually two days older than Mick Jagger. So there's hope, lol.
