I've had 3 separate instances recently of opening items that are sealed and look brand new, but upon opening I find discs with fingerprints and scratches. In the case of one, it was completely missing a disc and the digital code was used. All from different retailers--Best Buy and Amazon online orders and then one from the BF promo vids at Walmart. The ones from BB and Amazon were box sets, and both had 1 disc that was scratched bad enough that it wouldn't play correctly. The one from Walmart was totally destroyed under the sealed slipcover and missing the 4K disc entirely.
I can see Amazon Warehouse selling a return, but it seems pretty shady to sell returns as Brand New, especially when you know that someone could have only exchanged these for identical items, meaning that they would only return an opened item if it was defective or damaged in some way. Does anyone else have experience with this? Best Buy did let me exchange my Orphan Black box set, but I'm dreading having to keep dealing with this. |
