Arrow Constantine 2

Quote:
IGN had the chance to speak to producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura, who revealed that "Beverly Hills Cop 4" will likely never happen and considers it dead.

But regarding a "Constantine" sequel, di Bonaventura said that he would love to do it. "We want to do a hard, R-rated version of it," he said. "We're going to scale back the size of the movie to try and persuade the studio to go ahead and make a tough version of it."

He added that the plan is to bring back both Keanu Reeves and director Francis Lawrence, but no deal is currently in place.

When asked if Constantine will remain a brunette, di Bonaventura said that he is considering changing the character's hair color to blonde to match the comics.

"You know what? James Bond went blonde, so maybe Constantine," he said. "I always find it find that people get that impassionate about a hair color. We had that experience with The Baroness on 'GI Joe.' Sometimes it's part of your character, but it never really strikes me as part of Constantine's character. It's really up to Keanu more than anything. It doesn't seem important to me, but I know it's important to some of the fans."
For the Beverley Hills Cop 4 is Dead news and for the Constantine 2 news!!

I'm glad to hear there won't be a Beverly Hills Cop 4. As for Constantine, I thought it was alright. This type of movie usually ends up disappointing me, for one reason or another, but I'll certainly give the sequel a chance.

Keanu Reeves was woefully miscast in Constantine. The original character was blond, British and a bit of a git.....so just why didn't they consider Daniel Craig!!!

Great news, love the first one.

After reading a few graphic novels of Constantine after I saw the movie, I think they did miscast Reeves in this movie, at least they should have tried to make it more true to the source material. However, as a standalone (not looking at the movie next to the comic), it works.

Ugh.

I mean the Constantine movie in itself was good. But it doesn't relate to the comic very well. And the comic has a HELL of a lot of good stories in it. They only took a couple elements from it and changed a lot.

John Constantine is blonde, smokes all the time, drinks a lot of beer, he's a total a-hole and he's BRITISH. HELLO???? The only thing that carried into the movie was the smoking. And in the comic, after he is cured of his lung cancer, he starts smoking again. Twice. Not like in the movie. Chewing gum?? Yeah. Right.

Who cares what the character looks like in the comics. It's how the character is portrayed on screen by the actor that counts most. As for the "quitting smoking" thing? The sequel could easily stay true to the comics in that Constantine could start smoking again! Did you ever think of that?

Some people just aren't willing to accept the fact that some details MUST change in order for the content to work properly in the medium which it is presented. Nothing will ever translate perfectly from comic or stage script to the cinema screen!!!

Awesome! Constantine was pretty solid IMO and I'm glad they are making a sequel (I once read it would be a prequel?).

It may not be that close to the source material (according to some) but I hope they don't change too much and just keep the continuity of the film; I don't want to see Keanu suddenly be blonde.

I wonder if a certain side-kick will be returning; probably not as his stardom is so high

OK, yeeeees I realize that you can't film a comic book. However, getting NOTHING right except the character's NAMES? Don't you think that's a little bit of a stretch? By the way, John Constantine was modeled after Sting.

Oh, and no, I never thought that he could start smoking again. Don't give me any credit at all.

I'm real glad they got the ball rolling on this one, even more stoked if they make it a hard edgy R rating. That'd be sweeeeeeet!

the CGI in Constantine was awful. I felt like I was watching a live action video game from the PS2 era most of the time. Other than that, I thought the movie was pretty solid. I'll give a sequel a shot.

How long did it take Constantine to start smoking again in the comics?

Was it the day after he lost his cancer?

Aside from that Elvis, you're crying like a girl with a skinned knee over the fact that they changed his hair color?

That's a ha ha funny joke right? Because you seriously need to work on your material.

this really just shows that they're still interested in a Constantine sequel... but its probably going to be forever till we see it which sucks

as for Beverly Hills Cop 4 i would actually love seeing that happen :/

Im tired of Eddie Murphy's family movies i want to see him in something more akin to his 80s work

He never stopped smoking. He was cured by Lucifer and then lit up again right away. By the way, he was cured twice.

Well I don't know, am I ha-ha laughing? Do you want a knee-slapper instead? And why are you calling me Elvis? And how did you know I wear panties??? You've been PEEKING!

I am just arguing that the source material was superior. They could have used any of a dozen story-arcs and made a terrific movie. Instead, they made a story that has some character names in common, but little else.
