Directed by Robert Mulligan and starring Jason Miller (fresh off The Exorcist), this is a low-key little crime film that got nominated for the Palme d'Or at Cannes but subsequently disappeared after a limited theatrical run. It has something of a cult following and appeared in the line-up at Quentin Tarantino's first "QT Fest."
It took until 2011 for this under-seen gem to even arrive on DVD. Shout! Factory released it as a double-feature with Frankenehimer's 99 and 44/100% Dead. The print looked good on that disc but it's high time for a high-def version. As a Fox catalog title, maybe Twilight Time could step up, as they did with The Other? |
