I know this was posted in the Nova Media thread, but I don't visit that section, so I just found out about this today. So happy this is finally getting a release. Thought it would never happen when Content Zone went under.

Thanks, Huseyin.

Thanks to your review, I ordered "Quiet Family" (I already have the others). I wasn't too fond of the film on DVD, but maybe the upgrade in picture quality will make me reassess that.

Watched this last night and thought it looked pretty decent. Shame the only subtitle mistake I noticed was a big one, on the title no less (I think it was "The Quiet Famisy"!).

I can probably now retire the old Chinese DVD I had of it (one of those YesAsia freebies).

Also, it's a good job Kimchidvd use plenty of bubblewrap, as my box came the other day totally sodden. The receipt inside the box was soaked through, but the actual product was fine thankfully.

Thought this was a fantastic film. Never saw this until now so it was a bit strange seeing the actors so young looking in this! Blu-ray quality is good and subs were great apart from the error posted above.

It looks like both editions are OOP. Is there a Blu-Ray of this film in print anywhere in the world?

Both were sold out.

I ordered the last full slip a couple of months ago. As it turns out, NM emailed me to say they had no more and would the lenticular be OK - their 'last copy'. I said no problem and I was pleased to end up with #005.

Maybe they are just selling off the overstock for returns? I think it's common to hold back some units in case of damage/defects. At a certain point, unclaimed, they are sold off.

Sorry for the bump, but what was the transfer like on the Nova release? I watched the newer Umbrella release yesterday, and it's full of white specks and other damage marks, really disappointing. Maybe someone can comment on the Spectrum release as well?

Watched it a long time back when it released, but I don't remember it having any major issues.

This is a shockingly bad release from Umbrella. Not only is the presentation of the film lacking, the extras are even worse. While I've not listened to the new commentary track yet, the legacy Korean commentary, the interviews with the director and the actors, the Coming Out short, and the soundtrack featurette all have laughably bad English subtitles, to the point that they're barely watchable (I would even say unwatchable, I couldn't bring myself to finish any of them). Any decent label would be embarrased to release a film in this state, but not Umbrella, it seems. Avoid like the plague.

Transfer's pretty nice on the Nova disc was a huge improvement over the old Tai Seng DVD which is all I had to compare it to lol. Probably one of Nova's better looking releases in my book better than A Tale of Two Sisters. Umbrella are all over the place in my experience I've got rid of most of the releases I've owned of theirs since they often have issues in one area or another.
