Family Matters is getting a complete box set. Newly listed on YES B2B. Previous releases of this show's later seasons were MOD only.

Awesome! One of my favorite sitcoms of all time. I was buying the seasons as they came out, but I felt like they were just tossed onto shelves and the fate of new seasons depended on the sales of each one. Very nerve-wracking cause of course I just wanted the whole show. I never do MOD stuff so I never got to finish the collection.

I had hoped that we would be seeing some other drama series which the WAC released completely, or the first season or first few seasons of, during the remainder of this year. Still plenty of time for that to happen. |

B2BWave is a Canadian business-to-business retailer who lists a catalog of discs. The information was readily accessible to the general public and listed new releases before they were formally announced, though it seems as of just today they now require you to have an account to view anything on the site.

Well, I already have all of the seasons of Family Matters. And for the seasons released through Warner Archive, I'm pretty sure I managed to get early copies with pressed discs. I'll have to double check to be sure. But if so, then I have no reason to double-dip. But this is cool for anyone who doesn't have them yet, or has burned discs and wants pressed discs.
I may eventually grab Night Court on a good sale since I have all burned discs for the seasons released through Warner Archive. |

Usually when Warner Archive has a new release on DVD, they do an initial run of pressed discs. After that run, they are DVD-Rs. It also somewhat depends on where you order it from. If you order from Amazon, even when it first comes out, there's a decent chance of getting burned discs. The reason, if I am not mistaken, is that WB has some kind of arrangement with Amazon where Amazon actually physically replicates the content as needed. As the seasons of Perfect Strangers were coming out, I got most from Best Buy, but made the mistake of ordering one of them from Amazon, and ended up with burned discs. So I ended up double dipping immediately, ordering the same set from Best Buy, and getting pressed discs. Bootlegs are a problem in general these days, no doubt about that. But it's mainly a problem when buying from 3rd party sellers (i.e. ebay, Amazon marketplace, etc.). Not directly from normal retailers. |

I try to be especially careful when it comes to bootlegs, a lot of collectors I've met just absolutely have no idea what to look for and then insist their complete series set that's a bunch of standard DVD cases saran wrapped together for $30 is totally real. |
