I would try SACD if my PS3 40G could play it.
I'm expecting Blu-ray Audio now!

SACD is incredible, I still getting disks from online etailer, they also have some import disks. I listen to Jazz and good vocal, music of these type are easier to find on SACD.

Thumbs up SACD lives on!

If you are a fan of classical, jazz or a few other niche genres.

I have a small collection, but they are a real treat to listen to.

I'm half wondering if the PS3 and its SACD capability will revive this format?

Not exactly dead since they are still releasing titles, but certainly not doing too well.

Anyone have any recent news on the possible release of Wish you were here?

Yes, I love SACD. It is not a dead format. It is readily available and sounds much better than CD.

There are multiple threads on SACD. Check the following:

I have Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon, and I LOVE it! It's a pity that I only now get into SACD only to find that it is all but dead.
I would love to get more albums on SACD. Since they still release albums to vinyl, why not SACD? I will try to buy more whenever I can but I prefer it if it is at least multi-channel.
I hope that BD-music will take off too.

I've been really enjoying my sacd disks - all rock till now. I'm gonna pick up a few classical ones next month and give them a shot. The only sacd's that have disappoionted are the stereo-only Peter Gabriel disks. Up is multi-channel and sounds great technically but it's my least favorite of all his work.

Doesn't seem like sacd will pick up any momentum as the new PS3's don't have playback capabiltiy. The same is true with the four newer blu-ray recorders relaesed in Japan in November. Now that the war is over my guess is that it'l be some kind of blu-music disk that will be the next generation format.

Dark Side of the Moon and The Downward Spiral are incredible, even with the PS3 PCM

SACD

1) Does it play regular CDs?

2) Is there an SACD player for your car?

Yes, and yes. Love SACD, I think they should make it mandatory for all BD players to play SACD!

You should blame yourself then. If the French and Italians can sit back and savor their food, then surely the same approach can be applied to listening to music.

You can buy many new and old releases in SACD format.

Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_gw...-keywords=SACD

Since Sony invented SACD and they also own Sony-BMG, it is a good idea to check their site. Their Blu Ray prices are not unreasonable:
http://www.sonybmgstore.com/search/sacd.htm

If you like classical, check Telerac:
http://www.telarc.com/sacd/all.asp?m...C5RDTCB&q=cbsa

CD Universe is also a good place:
http://www.cduniverse.com/browsecat....cart=669425315

Acoustic Sounds specializes in high end:
http://store.acousticsounds.com/sacd.cfm

There are many more sites. Do a Yahoo or Google search.
