Great movie! Early Guy Ritchie with a little bit of Aronofski souce.

Thank goodness James Cameron didn't make it, because the UHD would scrub all the film grain right off and make this look like the cleanest DVD you've ever seen.

Clearly it was a joke that went better in my head.

This movie has a lot of grain/noise.

Carry on.

I knew what you meant immediately. If you've even seen the trailer, it should be obvious considering all the grain.

I haven't seen the trailer, but I saw the movie last Saturday.

One thing I don't expect to carry over is the terrible mix in my theater. The fronts were incredibly quiet for me. The movie opens in a bar, and all I could hear was the indoor chatter and music. I'll remember not to get tickets for my local Auditorium 6 anymore.

If that's the movie (which it's not), then interesting creative choice Cameronofsky.

that $49.99 price tag has to be a joke?.. or is this just Sony trying it's best to recoup losses?

The picture was very dim and the colors were very dull. Perhaps my theater was to blame...? Did anyone notice the same problems? (The Whale was dim and dull, though, now that I think about it.)

Good movie, but not paying full price for steelbook or standard version. It's definitely a wait for Black Friday for $10 release.

It's an intentional stylistic choice, just about every Aronofsky movie is like this because he likes to make movies that deal with trauma and depressing themes.

More likely the projector. I minimal watch movies in laser projection at the cinema otherwise all films are dimly lit.

lol basically every preorder on Amazon initially goes up at MSRP and then lowers to its actual price before release date. Very rarely does that not happen
