Warner Bros Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman - The Complete Series Blu-ray

Warner will be releasing the complete series of Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman (1993-1997) on Blu-ray on July 8th!

Quote:
Dean Cain and Teri Hatcher star in this fan-favorite romantic action/adventure series with comedic overtones, which gave the time-honored, legendary superhero a '90s twist over the course of four seasons on ABC TV. With clever writing, and strong performances from the cast, the comic book characters of Clark Kent/Superman and Lois Lane were brought to life with entertaining exploits in 87 episodes. What begins as the most unrequited love affair of all time becomes the most unpredictable of all romantic relationships. Newly remastered in High-Definition for its Blu-ray debut, Lois & Clark look better than ever!

Special Features: FROM RIVALS TO ROMANCE: THE MAKING OF LOIS & CLARK; PILOT PRESENTATION; TAKING FLIGHT; PILOT EPISODE COMMENTARY; LOIS AND CLARK: SECRETS OF SEASON 2; LOIS AND CLARK: MARVELING METROPOLIS: THE FANS OF LOIS AND CLARK; LOIS AND CLARK: A HISTORY OF ROMANCE; LOIS AND CLARK: THE MAN OF STEEL TRIVIA CHALLENGE

Finally! Other than upscaled VFX, the HD stream of this is a massive upgrade.

The aspect ratio is listed as 1.33:1 again... why are we still getting cropped series? the series was produced for widescreen

Yes, there was a comparison in an old forum, from a season 1 episode. Unfortunately the forum is long gone, and I can't find via Internet Archive. The screenshots were from a widescreen tape sold on eBay long ago.
JMS, who was producing Babylon 5 at the time, mentioned Lois and Clark was being produce for widescreen too

YES! I totally thought this show would come out on Blu-ray ahead of the new Superman film, and here it is! VERY exciting!

Babylon 5 was produced in widescreen from 1993 onwards by WB, why is it so difficult to believe it wasn't the only one?

Maybe it comes down to my family's economics at the time, but I didn't know anyone in 1993 that had a widescreen TV, nor did I know anyone at the time who would have happily watched a widescreen anything on full screen TV. I knew a few people who complained about widescreen films on TV on HBO or something like that.

If you lived during 1993, I really don't see why it would be difficult to understand why its difficult for people to believe that a show from that era was shot in widescreen. That just wasn't the norm. A decade late? Yes! In 1993? No.

I liked the first season of this show, but my interest waned after that. I am interested in this, but since the show was never given a proper ending I may pass on it. If it gets a good price drop for Black Friday, that could change my mind.

I really hope they include new extras and it's not just archive extras from the old DVDs.
