Default Disney official 09' 10' movies

http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=42234

With the writers strike now over, Walt Disney Pictures has set new release dates for 2009 and early 2010.

The P.J. Hogan-directed Confessions of a Shopaholic, starring Isla Fischer, is coming to theaters Valentine's Day weekend, on February 13, 2009.

On March 13, 2009, the studio will release Race to Witch Mountain, the remake with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and AnnaSophia Robb

Wild Hogs director Walt Becker's new comedy, Old Dogs, featuring Robin Williams, John Travolta, Kelly Preston, Bernie Mac, Matt Dillon, Seth Green, Lori Loughlin and Rita Wilson, is set for an April 10, 2009 release.

It looks like X-Men Origins: Wolverine will have new competition on May 1, 2009, as Disney will release The Hannah Montana Movie on that date.

On June 19, 2009, you can expect the Jerry Bruckheimer-produced Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, based on the video game (previously July 10, 2009)

Also from Bruckheimer comes the live-action/CGI family feature G-Force, now set for a July 24, 2009 date (previously May 1, 2009).

Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds romantic comedy The Proposal, previously scheduled to come out on February 13, 2009, has been pushed back to September 25, 2009.

Disney will release Bruce Willis sci-fi action-thriller Surrogates, based on a graphic novel, on November 20, 2009.

And Tim Burton's mix of performance capture animation and live action for Alice in Wonderland will be seen on March 19, 2010.

Two other Disney films have also been retitled. "South of the Border" will now be known as Beverly Hills Chihuahua (Sept. 26, 2008) and "High School Musical 3" as High School Musical 3: Senior Year (Oct. 24, 2008).

Jerry is doing G-Force (aka Gatchaman)? That's a strange match. I guess that means it has a pretty good budget. I hope they do it justice! It was a favorite childhood anime of mine.

Edit: IMDb says Kevin Munroe is directing the flick.

No, it says Kevin "TMNT" Munroe is directing "Gatchaman":
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0818257/

Hoyt "Disney/Bruckheimer SFX guy who got a promotion after 'Underdog'" Yeatman is directing "G-Force", and its heroic guinea pigs out to save the world:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0436339/

...I suspect one of the two is in for a change of title.

1. Old Dogs? Lame sequel/spinoff idea. Wild Hogs was only successful because it was a somewhat unique idea. Cashing in on a sequel of it = failure.

2. Competition? Anyone 13+ would rather watch the X-Men over Hanna Montana movie.

3. Now that sounds like a good movie. I'd watch it. Now where is the Wester Bruckheimer was talking about last year...

4. Might be good.

5. Might be good.

6. Complete failure.

They won't be in competition for the same demographic but as far as sales they will be. Have you ever checked craigslist for Hannah Montana tickets. This movie will sell a ton of tickets.

Wow, I don't see much there that interests me, except maybe the Bruce Willis thing.

A Wild Hogs sequel? *sob*

I think you mean '09 and '10 for 2009 and 2010, respectively.
The apostrophe goes where the omission is. 09' and 10' implies 9 feet and 10 feet.

Now that I've got that off my chest, I can actually read your thread.

I remember enjoying the old Witch Mountain movies as a kid. I'm not sure how Rock fits in, but I'd watch it...at least as a rental, if not in theatres. It depends on how good the trailer looks.

I agree about Sandra Bullock being a weird fit for Ryan Reynolds. Plus, isn't she a bit old for him? Sure, she's a movie star, looks good for her age, blah whatev...but still more mature looking than him

However, I would love to see Tim Burton's interpretation of Alice in Wonderland. Despite the Disney fluff, I've always kinda seen this story as a dark and twisted drug trip, for lack of a nicer term. Anyway, it should be right up TimBur's alley...if only we can prevent him from casting Johnny Depp as ALICE

You'll notice it's now "RACE to Witch Mountain"--presumably to resolve legal troubles with Alexander Key over anything titled "Escape"--what the new version having precious little to do with the original at all in the first place.
(Let's start with replacing Eddie Albert's camper with the Rock's Las Vegas cab, and go from there--Feel free to insert "Game Plan" cliche's as needed.)

Get your mind out of the Jefferson Airplane gutter, Junior--
Start by looking up a few of the real Victorian poems that Lewis Carroll was nastily parodying in the book ("How doth the little crocodile..."), and you start to realize that Carroll had a pretty darn funny SANE sense of humor when he needed to.

...Expect that literary insight, however, to be thoroughly lost on the wishfully-thinking Mr. Goth-Meister.

Now that I think about it, your probably right. All those tweens will beg their parents take them. If only Disney would harness their abilty to bring in the crowds by releasing a good movie. Might be a while though. Pirates of the Caribbean is rather hard to top.

OH that would suck. Especially since Depp has been in most, if not all of Burton's past several movies. But Depp will probably have some role in it.

It's not a remake. It's a sequel. Think Herbie Fully Loaded.

Look for the adult Tony and Tia to appear at the end.
