Robots (2005) is my personal favourite movie of ALL TIME, and the reason I’m making this thread is to wish for 20th Century/Disney to release an official 4K UHD remaster, because the ancient HD master (sourced from a 2K EFILM digital intermediate) that was used for both the original 2005 DVD and 2011 Blu-Ray releases has aged beyond like milk. It is plagued with MANY issues; Such as an ugly heavy brown tint over the white balance, bad contrast, severe banding in some shots, low brightness, and the overall saturation looks faded and washed out.
This really frustrates me, because the original theatrical 35mm/IMAX DMR 70mm film prints, promotional stills and FMV (full motion video) cutscenes in the video game tie-in look not just brighter, but also more vibrant and natural, and WAY MORE accurate to the original Blue Sky render files. I really want to see this movie look just as great as most major CG animated films do on that format, since the remasters for the first four Ice Age movies and the first Rio film look really good on Disney Plus in HDR10, and they all look better than their outdated and ancient HD counterparts.
