Default The Book of Boba Fett - Disney+ December 2021

‘The Mandalorian’ Eyes Production Start As Spinoff, Casting & Boba Fett Buzz Heats Up

https://deadline.com/2020/11/the-man...er-1234609860/

Quote:
While not officially greenlit, a third season of the hit Star Wars series has been in pre-production for months, with creator, director and executive producer Jon Favreau publicly stating that he hoped to start filming by end of 2020. That may be the case, with some sources indicating that production would be starting as soon as next week (or in late November/early December), while others point to spring or even fall 2021.
Quote:
The confusion stems from the level of secrecy in the Lucasfilm camp. But persistent chatter could explain the discrepancy — that another Mandalorian-related project/spinoff, I hear possibly a Boba Fett miniseries, would film first, starting next week or later this month, with The Mandalorian Season 3 production coming after that.

I'd rather we get Crimson Dawn series with Maul, Qi'ra, Solo, Chewie, Lando.
But anything SW is good.

I'll check it out if it's to the standards of quality that The Mandalorian has established.

There was lot of talk about a Boba Fett series after the most recent episode of The Mandalorian, but nothing announced.

Seems too similar to The Mandalorian. My guess is that Boba sticks around for a lot of Season 3.

Boba Fett is awesome, but let’s give it up for the real star, Ming-Na Wen as Fennec!

[Show spoiler]
Between the time when the oceans drank Atlantis and the rise of the sons of Aryas, there was an age undreamed of. And unto this, Conan, destined to wear the jeweled crown of Aquilonia upon a troubled brow. It is I, his chronicler, who alone can tell thee of his saga. Let me tell you of the days of high adventure!

Boba acknowledging that he's not mandalorian kinda pours cold water on the take that "The Book Of Boba" will be "The Mandalorian" series three. Doesn't make sense.

Lets go!!!!!!! I haven't been this excited for the future of SW since the ST was announced. Hopefully all these D+ shows turn out better than that.

Loved the post credits scene of the Mando finale that announced this. Such an awesome post script to what they did to him in ROTJ. I'm all for this show if its even half as good as Mando.

I never gave a crap about Boba before his appearance this season. He was a character that looked cool but never did anything worth being nearly as popular as he is, but Morrison’s take this season was fantastic and now I am excited for this. And more Ming-na is always great.

I'm excited for this. Yeah, it'll have Ming-Na Wen, whom I've never been a fan of, but it's freakin' Boba Fett starring in his own series! I'm down for that.

I'm sure it will be since it was announced after the credit scene of the last Mandalorian episode.

Lucasfilm concept designer Paul Bateman recently took to Twitter to clarify the distinction between The Mandalorian season three and The Book of Boba Fett. Bateman stated that they are "two different shows" and promised that fans will be "getting both."

Bateman later added that Mando Season 3 and the Boba Fett spinoff have two different production timelines:

However, soon after, Bateman deleted his first Tweet and posted clarification that he "doesn't officially represent Lucasfilm." He then elaborated, saying that, as he understands it, The Mandalorian Season 3 and The Book of Boba Fett will be "potentially releasing around the same date."

I liked how The Mandalorian was kinda like giving fans a Boba Fett show without it actually being Boba Fett, like subverting fans' expectations. Now that they're giving fans what they want, I'm not as interested. I might check it out if it gets really positive reviews, but it might just be another spinoff I don't care about.
