Exclamation Help - Sorting My Collection by Genre

I joined some time ago, but I waited to add the majority of my collection because I want to be sure I can sort it by genre.
I added several dvds to my collection but when I click on the genre link, only 5 genres list and only two of the movies I added show up in those genre lists. I don't see anywhere to add a genre when adding a movie to my collection.
Could someone please point me to a thread or tutorial that explains how to sort my collection by genre?
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
Cate

To clarify...I'm interested in being able to sort My Collection in the app. This is where I see only 5 genres and only 2 of the movies I added to my collection sorted into them.

On the browser I could tell you. That's what I use. I don't use the app so, i'm unfamiliar on how to put movies into different genres.

Thanks for replying...I'm just seeing it or I would have replied sooner.
I wouldn't mind knowing how to do it on-line (browser). Curious, is that using custom categories or something that sorts the movies automatically by genre?
I tried adding a few custom categories, but you then have to manually select the movies for each custom category and only one category per movie.
Thanks

So if you start out on the My Collection page on the App, the third section on the bottom is "Movies." There, click on "All Movies" (unless you'd rather look at just your DVDs, Blu-rays or 4ks). On that page, you've got two sections. In the second one, "Filter By," click "Genres." There it shows you a list of every genre and a number, which is how many movies you have in your collection that fit that genre (i.e., I have 172 Action movies). Click on any genre, and it shows you the full list of every movie you have in that genre.

You don't have to add the genres yourself. Just add the movie to your collection, because the site/app has already attached all the genres to all the movies.

I think you only see 5 genres currently because you've only added a handful of movies. So, for example, if you don't see "Comedy" in the list of genres yet, just add any comedy movie to your collection, and then Comedy will be an option.

How do you do this in the browser? The app lets me view each genre in full on one page I can scroll, however if I try to do the same in a browser (My Collection > Blu-ray > Search Collection > Select "Comedy") it only shows 20 results per page, forcing me to click through multiple different pages just to find a specific movie. Thanks!
