Post Sausage Party: Foodtopia (Based on the 2016 adult animated film) - Prime Video

Quote:
Sausage Party is heading to the small-screen.

Amazon has ordered a series spin-off of the 2016 animated feature with cast members including Seth Rogen, Kristen Wiig, Michael Cera, David Krumholtz, and Edward Norton returning to lend their voices to the anthropomorphic groceries.

The streamer is planning to launch Sausage Party: Foodtopia in 2024.

Will Forte, Sam Richardson, Natasha Rothwell, and Yassir Lester are also set to lend their voices to the animated series, which is currently in production.
Quote:
“Film used to be the superior art form to television, and we humbly reached the pinnacle of what can be achieved with film in our remarkable opus, Sausage Party. But now that film is completely dead and TV is the forever-king of entertainment, we’ve decided to continue the epic adventures of our culinary crew in the soon-to-be-legendary televised masterpiece Sausage Party: Foodtopia. It’s got all the heart, double the puns, and triple the food-on-food sex. In other words, it’s exactly what the world needs right now,” said Rogen and Goldberg.

I watched Sausage Party a few years ago. I enjoyed it, but I don't remember a single thing about it.

God that movie sucked. Now they figure they can succeed with a captive audience on streaming. They're probably right.

Probably one of the first movies I turned off and walked away from it was such crap. Seth Rogan; the oldest teenage boy in the world.

Might work better in short form. Definitely a better idea than making a feature-length sequel.

Some producer must have owed Seth Rogen for spotting him a kilo of coke or weed or maybe both in a box, with a bag of random prescription medication stolen from a nursing home.

Jeez some people are super mad with Rogen for being Rogen.

Don't be afraid to use your nails, dears.

Too bad Nick Kroll isn’t returning. His character was pretty funny.

Season 2 premieres August 12th on Prime Video
Quote:
In Season 2, exiled from home, Frank, Barry and Sammy soon find themselves in New Foodland, a shining utopia for food and humans alike. But beneath the city’s glossy fridges and cheery smiles lies a dark secret that threatens the entirety of sentient food society.

Returning cast members include Seth Rogen, Will Forte, Edward Norton and Michael Cera — with some tasty new additions:

Academy Award winner Marion Cotillard as Dijon, a badass warrior-mustard princess who pilots the most effective humey in New Foodland
Jillian Bell as Trish, an empathic nut that puts the wellbeing of New Foodland above all else
Martin Starr as Sherman, Trish’s right-hand man and a cake who is not all that he appears to be
and Patti Harrison as Jill, a humey from New Foodland.
