Default Transformers One (2024)

Ant-Man writers Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari have joined Paramount’s Transformers brain trust, possibly to work on a Cybertron origin film.

According to this report, one of the concepts in the offing has a working title of Transformers One and is “more or less” an origin story set on the Transformers homeworld of Cybertron. There is a possibility that this could be an animated film rather than live-action, but Barrer and Ferrari “are also going to the writer’s room with the expectation they’ll write a live action Transformers movie, as well.”

Paramount and series director Michael Bay want a sequel ready to go before cameras by the time Bay finishes his film 13 Hours. Other Transformers films are intended to follow closely after that, apparently in the vein of the Marvel and Star Wars films.

Sounds interesting animated might be the fresh air Transformers needs.

I am not versed with the Transformers universe, so this question might seem stupid.

Are there any thing other than robots on Cybertron? If not what would be the difference between an animated and live action version of the movie considering they both will be computer generated.

I imagine "animated" only in the context of "there are no human characters so everything will be CGI by default."

Should've done this after Dark of the Moon. That opening scene was neat.

All the inhabitants of Cybertron are mechanical life forms. So yeah, definitely computer generated like the previous movies.

"Transformers One will be the first installment in the saga filmed entirely with puppets!"

Thing more along the lines of Transformers Prime instead of the movies.

I never got into that one. Back when it was popular was to busy to watch much of anything regular. Will have to try it one day.

Dinobot is probably still my favourite Transformer of all-time, the only thing I would've changed about the show is I would've made it longer.

Animated origin movie sounds cool. I like Bay but I'd hand it over to fresh blood. Keep Bay as an executive producer and move on.

The thing I'd like to see addressed is this: why did the Allspark only create Decepticons? Unless I missed something, every single piece of machinery brought to life by the Allspark immediately turned evil. Wha?

IIRC, the rational from O&K was that the Allspark's use in the first two movies was under uncontrolled conditions, so all the transformers it activated were basically feral.

Wait, what? I thought Michael Bay was out of the picture? (no pun intended...)

If Bay has no influence whatsoever then I'd happily go and see movie set on Cybertron, providing it sticks to the source material and isn't anything like Bayformers.

Yeah... Oookay... Fine. Whatever. I'm so indifferent with the series now. Hardly worth getting excited after four movies.

I'll wait for the first trailer before deciding to get excited about it.
