SYNOPSIS

I already have the Blu Ray from 2014 which is bare bones. The new special features being added to this remastered Blu Ray disk are tempting and i wish they were on the older release when I got that back when it came out in 2014 I think. But I just can't bring myself to double dip even for the disk upgrade and special features. Unless I have to re-buy due to damage or I'm upgrading from VHS, double dipping is my red line and I will only cross it on very rare special occasions.

With that said,I'm glad this is being put out on 4K disk for those who want that and it's being put out on an upgraded blu Ray disk too with special features this time and on the BD disk.

This is exactly the kind of movie I want to see get the Steelbook treatment. For a while it has felt like there’s a small catalogue of titles that just keep getting released over and over. This is a breath of fresh air.

I'll definitely be picking this up as I don't currently own the movie. Also, I'm glad Sony is doing it because they generally do excellent transfers.

I'm so doing the exact same thing.

Overall I'm rather impressed with how many of these cheesy 80's Sci-Fi/Fantasy flicks are getting the 4k treatment.

Getting a 4k release of The Sword and the Sorcerer just about blew my mind at the time, as I finally found a new and unopened copy of the Anchor Bay DVD off eBay a few months before the announcement, believing wholeheartedly this was never going to see the light on an HD format, let alone 4K.
