I was wondering if you still could watch blue-ray movies on a non-HD TV?

if you have a blu-ray player and a blu-ray disc and you plug it into a sdtv, it will still play fine, you won't see an improvement over dvd, but it will play just like a normal dvd.

Yes, but it'll basically be the most expensive DVD player you've ever owned, and also the most under-utilized piece of equipment in the house. Go with an HDTV... you'll be glad you did!

Just make sure you have something soft for you to land on when you pass out from the PQ.
