Fact. I've been slowly hoarding copies of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers steelbook sets to use as giveaways down the road, and they've all been purchased this year during various "going OOP" sales.

Last year in the Going Out of Print sales SF had the Slapshot steelbook for $13, but every time that they have the same sale this year it's always $23. Part of me wouldn't mind having the steelbook, but the fact that their own store has it cheaper before makes me not want to pull the trigger on it now.

Always meant to order WKRP. Should have done it a year or so ago when Amazon had the 12 disc set reduced to $26 (I think).

Tried ordering a couple copies as gifts last Christmas on Ebay and discovered that WKRP is massively bootlegged. The seller had a picture of the authentic 13 disc set, but that was not what I was sent. Totally different compact package and the discs were single layer.

The seller first tried to tell me it was "a new version of the packaging" and offered a partial refund. I pointed out how I knew the sets were bootlegs and that I had no interest in buying bootlegged copies. The seller did a refund quickly after that, but never sent me a return shipping label.

I probably should have left Ebay feedback about the seller passing off bootleg copies as authentic. But we were busy with other things in January and I know that Ebay has let bootlegs basically go untouched for years; if they shut down the seller's account he or she would be back up with a new one in short order.

I would like to spend a bit less on the WKRP set, but SF's price is a whole lot less than Gruv's right now and I know I'm getting the genuine product.

Have the same problem. Bought one of thise too earlier and returned. Basically if its sold as new and has the 13th disc its a good bet its the single layer bootleg (the episodes are super compressed)

Never saw it for 25+, 40 is closer but if they liquidate them they might show up on hamilton instead, im playing the waiting game myself
