Pet Peeves anyone???

Its first usage was around 1919.The term is a *back-formation* from the 14th-century word*peevish, meaning "ornery or ill-tempered".

Description
Pet peeves often involve specific behaviors of someone close, such as a spouse or significant other. These behaviors may involve disrespect, manners, personal hygiene, relationships, and family issues.

Less vs. Fewer

Less and fewer are easy to mix up. They mean the same thing—the opposite of more—but you use them in different circumstances (1). The basic rule is that you use less with mass nouns and fewer with count nouns.

Nearly every sports broadcast that I've seen in the past few years uses less in an improper context. Herm Edwards does it nearly every time he speaks. It infuriates me to no end.

When people use the word literally in a story before saying something ridiculous, impossible and untrue.

It bothers me when people always playing with his phone. Checking their messages and texting back when their out with friends/family. all right, i can understand that if it is an emergancy than text something back but if it isn't and they are just wanting to talk and than i think that can wait until later. The main priority at that time should be spending time with the people you love, don't you think?

It's fun when you sit down with someone and they place their phone on the table between you. It's a clear text-message of intent. "At any minute now that little device is going to become more important than this thing we're doing..."

Did my wife join the forum Seriously, this is one of my wife's complaints. She's constantly asking me to put my phone down, despite appointing me the archivist of life events. I can't wait until our trip to Disneyland

People who think it's cool to sit alone in a parked car in a parking lot for 30+ minutes or more. Always creepy when you return to your car from shopping and Jim Bob in the car next to you is still sipping away at his slurpee with a lazy stare.

as for me, one of my biggest pet peeves is someone who interrupts other people. they don't even have to interrupt me. if i hear someone interrupt someone else, it just grinds on my nerves so bad.

i have a friend who does that.....ALOT! he did it one time and i waited until he finished talking and then said, "whew! i'm glad you told us that. we almost died right there."

"well, you interrupted me so it must have been very, very important that it just couldn't wait until i was finished with my sentence."

"you don't have to be a dick about it."

"well, you don't have to interrupt people with things that aren't important. it's rude and not a nice thing to...."

People who can't even drive the speed limit when it is bright and sunny out. People who pull out there phones at stop lights
People who bring all there kids grocery shopping and can't control them
People who go grocery shopping to socialize and block everything
People who ride the moving sidewalks at airports like its a ride, move over
I think just people in general are my pet peeve.. 90% of the world won't think about they are about to do before they do it. Get a clue.....

I get these kind of people at work all the time...some old man pulls into the handicapped space and requests that an electric "mart cart" be driven out to him. Okay, fair enough...but then he'll just SIT THERE with the car door open, either listening to music or making a phone call, for up to and including a HALF-HOUR at a time! And this before he even starts shopping! Jesus, someone else might want to use that cart while you're doing phuck-all with it.

Bad grammar. It's just embarrassing these days that people don't know the difference between your and you're or then and than. There's also to and too, there, their, and they're. The list goes on and on.
