Am I reading that right? They're changing the title? What on earth for?

I have been wanting to see this one for a while. Maybe this will get Lionsgate to pop it out stateside. Maybe they will see fit to include it in their next catalog wave. You know, speaking of Lionsgate I wonder why they are releasing Hamburger Hill on BD in the UK and not in the US. Hopefully, they release the Studio Canal Highlander release over here soon as well. Ha, throw these three flicks together and they have half a catalog wave ready to go.

This is an unconfirmed (according to IMDb) foreign title for the film, however, at least in the UK it has always been shown as Jacob's Ladder.

A strange choice for a BR release considering how horribly drab and dark it looked (and I know it was supposed to before anyone says so!)

If Anchor Bay can do it justice though its going straight onto my list.

Always had a love/hate relationship with this film but the older I get the more I like it.

Best film ever made about psychosis. Maybe.

update:

It seems like there was some confusion amongst those who sent the early info to different online vendors - apparently, it is not Adrian Lyne's film that is getting a BD release but this one (I won't be able to ask for additional details until Monday -- will update thread on Monday afternoon):

Drop some LSD & watch jacob's ladder oh those were the days. Many lost weekends of self inflicted abuse.

Now the military have weapons that can make you believe your body is on fire...how things change

Another update:

OK, so the correct date for Adrian Lyne's film - Jacob's Ladder (which will be distributed in the UK with the proper title) - is March 1, 2010. Courtesy of Optimum Home Entertainment.

Had some confusion there but it's definitely the classic Jacob's Ladder www.amazon.co.uk/Jacobs-Ladder-Blu-r...dp/B002VD5SAG/

Yay! Thanks Pro-B! This is one of my favorites.

So what kind of reputation does Optimum Home Entertainment have with blu-rays? Are they known for decent transfers? Might it be region free?

Good evening davowavo,

I like Optimum Home Entertainment a lot - they have a very diverse catalog of titles (thanks to Studio Canal), and with a few exceptions, their releases always offer pleasing upgrades. This being said, I do believe Jacob's Ladder would be Region-B "locked". We will confirm with a review, though

I'd go for locked to B because I reckon LionsGate have this for the USA/Canada and there seems to be some sort of an agreement with these companies. Sometimes.
