After Deadpool and Wolverine, does anyone else think it sounds possible for this movie to get multiple Steelbooks?

I've been reading there's just a few minutes that are in IMAX. So I guess we don't need to be worried about shifting ratios for the home release.

The IMAX version will be D+ exclusive either way.

As for shifting aspect ratios, in IMAX, the entire film is presented in 1.90.1, with a few minutes of 1.43:1 footage for taller screens.

They might put the pre-order straight away this time.

One for each of the four if they’re really insane. But they also didn’t do separate Thunderbolts*/The New Avengers ones like I thought they would so maybe they’ll hold back here too.

Yeah, Disney tends to wait a bit before putting pre-orders up for their new theatricals coming to physical media. unlike most of the other studios now.

If you put the preorders up too soon, it makes people feel that they can wait to see it at home instead of going to the theater.

Pretty much what starmike said. Disney is one of the few studios who still hold off on putting up pre-orders in order to generate more ticket sales for the theatrical release.. Most studios don't do this anymore. Not sure why. The the exception seems to be Christopher Nolan but he puts it in his contract that there is a specific window about when a studio can start the home release cycle with his films. He has that clout though.

With how much they went on about showing Galactus' verticality and scale in IMAX, it'd be a shame for this to be stuck in scope on disc.

It seems like Tom Cruise is like that as well. Top Gun Maverick took nearly 6 months to reach homes after release and it seems to be that way with the new Mission Impossible. Tom Cruise pretty much as the say so when they release his movies.

I am expecting a late October release for this one, going by Disney's typical release timeline.

Knowing Disney, it probably and sadly will be.

Know for a fact they will never present Galactus' 1.43 scenes on anything after theatrical. So what they could do is do what James Gunn did with Guardians 3. Use Scope mostly but open up to 1.90 on Disc for some of the major sequences, especially if the whole movie is filmed with IMAX 1.90. I don't mind having some sequences opening up, it works better that way for me than watching it all in 1.90.

Likely will never happen, but I'd like that.

Also potentially more D+ views of the films for the bean counters, and perhaps new sign-ups.

Looked great in scope (and was clearly framed for it), I don't think an open matte could bring anything substantial here.

I was impressed at how well they sold the scale of Galactus—less because I was watching in scope and more because it’s Marvel thing and so many of them are so hapharzardly framed and ugly, at least in the last few years as the Russos set the house style. There’s honest-to-god shot design behind this one! Remarkably competent! I like having options and will check out the taller versions at some point even if only on the stream, but even in ‘scope he’s a nicely framed big guy.

The 1.43 IMAX version is a crop from the 1.90 image anyway.

Maybe until people provide more comparisons. Cause Some people have and some of those don't look like a crop to me. That is the only instance of it looking like one so it might only be a couple shots? No clue. We can't write off every 1.43 shot as a crop of the 1.90 image.
